It looks nice but after patching the files and moving the themes to the correct folder they don't show up in the personalization screen. You also forgot to explain what the hell is that integration pack and why anyone would want to install it.

i applied the theme but it doesn't look like your screen. i don't mean about rainmeter top taskbar, i mean the window. it's just like that: [link] what do i have to do more?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RudeBoySes In reply to Immune7 [2011-07-04 05:57:56 +0000 UTC]

it looks like either:
1. you did not install the Theme correctly: make sure you copy the contents of "Chill" or "Chill3D" into C:/Windows/Resources/Themes and not the entire folder.

2. you did not apply "Universal Theme Patcher" or you did it incorrectly. Make sure you restart after applying, then enable "Chill" by right-clicking the desktop > Personalize.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RudeBoySes In reply to NCPhotog [2011-06-28 13:29:12 +0000 UTC]

hchan6490 is correct.. it's a Rainmeter skin.

You can get it here: [link]
You will need Rainmeter, it's freeware, portable, and stealth You can get it here: [link]

TPFC has it posted as well, and they do a great job of explaining the intricate details:

Per the Taskbar Icons:
You probably have to re-pin your Taskbar icons, also keep in mind, the integration pack is only compatible with Service Pack 1.

RudeBoySes In reply to ochibix [2011-06-28 13:32:35 +0000 UTC]

Ditch Windows Sidebar, go with Rainmeter.
It's way more customizable, light, portable, stealth, and your desktop will load so much faster.

Read my reply to NCPhotog above.

Does this theme forcefully disable my system tray icons? Cause right now, after installing this theme and its integration pack i cannot turn my network, volume, and power icons back on. Any solutions?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RudeBoySes In reply to epikarus [2011-06-19 01:47:53 +0000 UTC]

no.. it wasn't designed to do so...
the Integration Pack changes the Notification Icons to Token Style.

Do you have Service Pack 1 installed?
The Integration Pack is only compatible if you have Service Pack 1 installed.

Either install Service Pack 1.
or
Send me your files and i'll patch it for you ..
or
leave out following files:
1. actioncenter
2. pnidui
3. sndvolsso
4. stoject

Can someone help me out. I have used the universal theme thing, everything patched fine, but when i put the themes into the Theme folder and go to personalize, its either not there, or it is but when i choose it nothing changed. Thanks

RudeBoySes In reply to SN007 [2011-06-16 06:09:42 +0000 UTC]

You probably copied the entire folder.

Open up "Chill" folder, and you'll see:
1. Chill.theme
2. Chill

Copy those 2 items into C:\Windows\Resources\Themes

Do the same for "Chill3D".

please and thank you

RudeBoySes In reply to DuhnnyUp1 [2011-06-15 03:06:21 +0000 UTC]

it's pretty easy..

1. Apply "Universal Theme Patcher".
2. Restart PC
3. Copy "Chill" and "Chill3D" into C:\Windows\Resources\Themes.
4. Enable Theme by right-click the desktop > Personalize.

To Apply Integration Pack:
1. Ensure you're running SP1.
2. Apply "Take Ownership" Context Menu Shortcut (Provided)
3. Make sure you use the correct pack (x32 or x64) according to your system.
4. Then go through and replace each file in System32 that has the same name as the file i've provided.
(Right click the file > select "Take Ownership" > rename file by adding .bak suffix > then paste my modded version).
5. For "Explorer.exe".. you have to take ownership manually.. the instructions are with the "Take Ownership" folder. Once you've taken ownership.. replace with mine.
6. Do same for "System Properties Icon" .. in C:\Windows\Branding\ShellBrd.
7. for x64Bit users.. you must do the same for SysWOW64 directory.
8. Once all files have been replaced.. Restart.

* Windows cache icons for faster browsing.. so more than likely.. you'll still see the old icon.
- Download CCleaner.. it's freeware, portable, and stealth (leave no traces behind).
- Clean with CCleaner.. make sure you select "Icon" when you clean.
- Then use the provided "Rebuild_Icon_Cache.bat" file. (use this last as it will ask to restart).
- Restart

Done.

* How to change the Log On/Off wallpaper: [link]

Trouble-shooting
============
Both versions have been thoroughly tested .. but take your time when replacing.. ensure you replace the correct files with the correct version .. a mistake can cause boot problems.
If you run into trouble.. let me know.

Or boot into Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
Once you see command prompt.. enter:
sfc /scannow

Windows will replace all patched files with original then let you boot.

-----

If you know the exact file that's causing the problem.
Enter:
sfc /scanfile=c:\windows\....

replace .... with either System32 or SysWOW64 and then the name of the file.
example: sfc /scanfile=c:\windows\system32\shell32.dll

this method will save time as Windows will not have to scan the entire computer ...

I can't seem to find the Chill or Chill3D folder that needs to be copied in the themes folder. I clicked all your links that can be downloaded, all it says is CHILL.INTEGRATION.PACK.U7601.X64.zip -- in which i don't think that this really has the Chill theme. please help.
