I am so enthralled with, what I perceive as, the leaps and bounds I take with my art as of 2013. So, this is Alice Mendoza, aka, Aquatica in yet another Jojo pose with more water swirling around her. First, there are a few things that should be addressed. Her clothing. The next time I draw her, I will probably leave blank spaces to just fill in with white, rather than put a thick coating of white over the blues. Don't get me wrong, I like how this looks but I want to see how the other technique looks on her. But that is something for ANOTHER day for sure. This took so much out of me. I actually broke blood vessels in my left pointer finger drawing this. Second, the water. It is done in water color and has like 5 different watercolor pencils involved but I did not have a good brush to really blend them. So I did the best I could with my little brush and by dipping the tips of the watercolor pencils into water and drawing with them. They totally made Aquatica's powers look so super vibrant and since they're watercolors...and she has water powers...kinda worked well.

Her skin was the biggest challenge by far. She is not a pale, Russian like Mira, but a darker, Mestizo born of Mexican parents. Thus, she is darker. I must have used 10-12 different colors on her skin to blend everything together. Instead of the 4-5 for Mira. Oh and I changed Alice's belly button ring, the water drop shape was too hard to draw small and shade, so I just went with a metallic blue orb. Plus now you can see her belly button underneath the blue orb. Oh and Alice isn't smoking, that is a sucker she has in her lips. Oh and look at the French manicure she has!!!! That was gel pen, yessir. What do you guys think? Did she turn out well? Is she inferior to my recent Vampirella and Mira? Let me know!!!

*EDIT* I restored Alice to her true color. I removed all the tint changes I made on my scanner. It felt dishonest. Alice is still pretty tan compared to Mira so I'm ok with how the true color looks. She's just a little paler than she should be. I will work to find a good combination of colored pencils to capture her wonderful Mestizo color.
