So I did this months ago, but in January I got a real bad cold, and then in March I got another, even worse cold, and since I was so sick, I just decided to draw, and not worry about maintaining deviantArt. Furthermore, this is a super experimental drawing. Allow me to explain, 1, watercolor (which I am getting really good at), 2, I used Canson's new 'fluid mixed media' paper. It's much smoother than normal watercolor paper, not nearly as durable, but much smoother. That allowed me to apply the markers directly to the paper without damaging them, and this paper also holds the markers better, I can't explain it. Her hair and the shadows were all direct apply. I went over with water here and there. 3, I once again did not use any India ink for hard outlines except literally for her outline, all the lines are graphite, to give it a softer tone. And 4, this is a perspective piece, which I am not good at, in my opinion.

I used...I mean stole, the pose from a pic I found online, I used the correct verb there lol. She's leaning back on a couch or whatever, with a big fetal kick going, hence the title. Also hence the shadow pattern. I am very happy with her face, I think it is stellar. Her eyes, her hair, her mouth, since I rarely draw teeth (because they tend to either not look good, or get me criticized lol) but I love how they turned out. They don't look like pure ivory rectangles in her mouth, nor do they look gross. And she's tired, and she looks it. It isn't a smile, it isn't a glamorous facial expression, it is exhaustion. Which I can really sympathize with lmao. I actually used my watercolor graphite for her hoodie, while her undershirt is a Tombow watercolor blue gray.
