This is my half of a long overdue (har har, there's a pun) art trade with my buddy,This is his OC, Narii, a water-type Pokemon trainer who has founds herself engaging in "Moemon" activities. If anyone is interested in that, I can refer you to people who are WAY more knowledgeable than I since I am struggling to comprehend this new...roleplaying...game, thingie, idk. Anyways, I fell in love with this character when I first saw her and her fish tattoo. Originally it was just a koi but the author transitioned it to a Magikarp when he transitioned Narii over to the Moemon universe. I kept her design mostly the same, save for the Staryu necklace I gave her to take up space on her chest. There are a few fuck ups with regards to the lines here and there and a few teeny splatters of purple and blue around her but overall, I am pleased with how she turned out.

Seriously, you nailed it, Narii looks fantastic. All the little details are so great - I love the necklace, that's an awesome touch.

I can't even begin to express how much I love how fantastically derp she looks. Simply the best.
The colors are wonderful, nice shades and highlights; she's an excellent work from you, even if she weren't my OC and I were subsequently kissing your ass for such an awesome piece.

Thank you, I am very glad you're satisfied with her. I was worried she did not do your Narii justice. I couldn't mimic your style perfectly so I tried to minimize my own influence. The Staryu necklace was my attempt at paying you back for adding the blue lipstick Aquatica, that has become part of her canon look.
As for the derpfish, I kinda have him going "AHH HELP ME!" Cuz 1, it's a magikarp, they need all the help they can get, and 2, just, yeah, it fit.
I'm so glad you like her, I was super worried she was not going to be satisfactory. Your reaction and your enjoyment of her has, in turn, made my day.

I know these feels, I'm always concerned I'm not doing something up to par whenever I draw someone's OC. There's always this little fear of rejection on presentation, and then it's like "yes! They liked it!" Followed by a victory dance when they accept it.

Yeah man, that's always how it feels. It's especially hard if they don't have a character in mind ahead of time. You know what I mean? Like, they have only a text version of their character, no one else has drawn them yet or they're not an artist. I've worked with that before and let me tell you what, that's hard as fuck.

I really like how this turned out. The colors are great and the lines look good to me. (I don't see any errors) I like how you got the shading right on her skirt as well. Great job.

I kinda feel bad about this piece sometimes. Like, if it was black and white, my graphite, I could have added so much more detail. The ink just bleeds so much and I really should invest in some more brush tips. I am very happy with how she turned out though. Knowing I didn't have the best colors prompted me to draw her big like this. Negated the issues a little. And her skirt is actually a super dark gray with black ink over it to make it look like it has shadow.

That Magikarp face made me laugh so HARD. Its a derpy looking pokemon to start but the tattoo just gets better and better with every drawing of Narii that is produced. ^^

Yeah, I originally was drawn to her because of the belly tattoo in general, like, it's a really well done belly tattoo but when it shifted to a Magikarp, it became gold.
Oh man...that idea with the googly eyes makes me want to make a sculpture of her and just cop out on the eyes by gluing fake ones on instead of painting them lmao.
