Description
Hey everyone, this is kind of an experiment. This is an old character I never really got to use, this is Vashti the sorceress/necromancer. She is a villain I'm planning to use in my Mira stories. I'll leave the actual storyline work for another day. I did this in India ink mostly, and yes, she is supposed to be chalk white. I use Prismacolor markers for the rest of the color and some colored pencils and pastels. In retrospect, I should have used the white pastels for the shine on her black outfit. I used a white gel pen and no matter how many layers I put on, it still looked blotchy, so that sucked. This was a good practice of my color and my line art skills, which REALLY need to improve.Related content

I like Lord-Godzilla's portrayal of Vashti, actually found his submission searching for submissions of Lord Wily from MMBN

well I'm glad you found my gallery. I've drawn Vashti several times over the years, perhaps her other versions will please you.

Eh, there are some minor mistakes here and there and my hand is no where near as steady as it needs to be for this kind of art. However, this is good, solid practice and I'm very pleased with the result. Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it as always.

She kinda reminds me of my OC Lady August who was pregnant at one point. By the way her kids are all 9 going on 10 now. I think that you did a very good job on Vashni. I think her being white is also interesting. It makes her look kinda like a ghost in a way. You are very good with gel pens. I hope you can teach me how to use them like that.

Eh, gel pens are kinda difficult. I find it really useful to like, put a layer of gel pen down, then do another layer after the first layer dried. It really depends on the colors. My metallic gel pens are different. My gold usually only needs one layer, but my silver, damn silver. It requires a lot of layering since it doesn't go on smoothly. I don't know why it's so difficult to work with. My blue and red are more like my gold. Sometimes I use the white to make the whites of the eyes white, but usually I just use a white colored pencil. But white gel pens are good for shine on reflective objects.
I'm glad you like my character. If you want to use gel pens in things, you could use metallic ones for jewelry, sometimes I do that. Or you could use normal colored gel pens for stars, lights, glowing eyes, etc. I think you could work them into your art easily, like to accent little bits here and there.

Yeah, if you get the chance to buy a few, experiment a bit on scrap paper. See how they all write. Some might be smooth, some might require more attention, you get what I mean? I think it could add to your drawings, but don't go overboard with it. Color is your strong point.
