Forgive me for what I am about to do . . . but as Van Helsing hunted vampires, I am compelled to root out the unholy (tangents) where ever they may hide. . . 

. . . Notice in panel six how the outside line of the girl's body (left side of picture) mirrors the outside line of the boys body on the opposite (right) side.  This means that the line of her body is tangent to the line of his body on the same side (left).  Also, the line of her hips and legs continues down along his leg, covering his leg and mirroring the line of his leg on the opposite side of his body, continuing the tangent between them on the same side (left).  

These tangents act to camouflage her body, concealing it within his silhouette, so causing the illusion that a third arm, breast and head are sprouting from his side.  

Sure, the colorist will do what can be done to cover it up and draw attention away from it.  But that will only lessen the effect, not eliminate it.  The girl's silhouette will continue to complete the boys via a tangent.  

The tangent is evil, Rudy.  It must die.
