lol-Thanks! Well, it took me 4 hours to pencil it and about 5 months sitting there because I had a day job, but about 8 hours inking when I finally could get to it.

Just curious, where did you use the brushes, and where did you use the Faber Castells? Just trying to see if I can separate where you used the two on this piece, which by the way is a knock out!

Well, big black areas I used brushes to cover that ground, as well as the hair on the big guy and the power effect on the dude front and center. I also used brushes slightly dry for the drama strokes (sorry don't know what to call them) at the lower left and right hand corners. Everything else is pens, dude. Just trying, trying to imporve man.

Hey that's cool! It's an awesome job. I just wanted to ask to see how much could be done wtih just pens. I'm not very good with brushes at all and I feel like the Faber Castells really save me. You accomplish a lot more than I do in my opinion.

you know, todd macfarlane really didn't like any of the inks he got when he was at marvel- either we changed his stuff too much, or not enough- but his main complaint was nobody used a delicate enough line on his work-he even got terry austin to ink his pencils ( one of the master inkers when it comes to delicate linework and being faithful to ones pencils ) - todd complained that terry just traced him!! I guess it just depends on the pencillers expectations, luck, and fate when it comes to finding the right penciller/inker collab

I don't know about that Colonel. lol You know the hardest part of having someone else inkl my stuff is, I find that I change and add a lot to my pencils when I ink them. Unless my stuff is super super tight, I'm not sure another person would be brave enough to change stuff for the better, instead of following every line, bad ones or not. Finding the right inker is hard.

good stuff, you must have an amazing steady hand to get that line work. the hatching on the big face is very art adams esque (which is a huge compliment from me, i love art adams style)
