awesome. i'm a comic fanatic/artist, with little access to computer graphics, so i know how bloody long it takes to get something like this finished and posted. so this is pretty damn good

Nothing like a real-life model to draw your figures! Do you use yourself for the women as well?

RudyVasquez In reply to Fatalist555 [2008-02-19 07:06:13 +0000 UTC]
Especially the women! I've just got that ass you know....Geez! I actually only use myself for the hands. Other people are better models trust me.

Was it quite liberating to ink your own work? I get the impression that your pencils are placed onto a conveyor belt, and follow a process line, where they leave your control. You then have to rely on other talents to ink and colour the images. It must be frustrating when the pictures aren't inked or coloured in a way that you would have liked. Also, when you ink your own pencils, you can do it exactly as you intended, hence my reference to liberation.
The image is nicely composed and dramatically inked. You're always anticipating light sources and character dynamics. I know nothing of RODCOMs VINDICATORS, but I do feel a sense of their hierachy due to the way you have balanced them in this poster.
I did just look at Rodcoms Vindicators, and your styles are so very different. I'm sure he was very flattered. No doubt he has, or will return the gesture.

Wow, thanks! Yeah, actually it is liberating, but it's just as hard to find a trusted inker as it is to find that perfect girl friend. It's about being a good compliment stylewise. My search continues!

Fladam In reply to RudyVasquez [2008-02-17 20:56:22 +0000 UTC]
It's probably easier to find synergy with that elusive inker than it is to find the perfect girlfriend
Good luck with the search.

I used mostly the small size Faber Castell. It's ok, for now. I think I might upgrade to something else, if I can get more proficient with quills or something.

The one you promised, and were concerned you wouldn't have time to do? lol Can't wait to see it. If it's larger areas of black trust me I use whatever makes it easier in those areas, bigger brushes,..whatever. I'm not sure how big you went. Talk to you later Shelden.
