Description
Quick sketches of the main cast for How To Train Your Dragon (opens March 26th 2010 in North America).It is different from the original book, so if you have read or are planning to read it...yes. Big differences.
The movie itself doesn't reinvent anything: it is an often told story with known themes, so no big surprises. What is important though is trying to tell it well, and for a movie that was done in barely more than a year (feature animated films usually take 2 to 4 years), I believe it has succeeded.
The more fun to draw are the other kids (the twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut, Fishlegs and Snotlout), Gobber and Toothless. Sorry Hiccup and Astrid!

well, the movie is praise worthy. My family has quite the age range (daughter = soon to be 5, my wife and I = late 30s), and we all loved it. Although my wife was not happy at her lack of tissues during the end of the movie. You and your co-workers should be very proud of yourselves.

Ruffnut is pretty. A bit of posture problems sometimes, but that's just her getting ready in case her brother pounces on her.

And i love the pictures of the twins and Toothless the most, i think. The way he's looking just a might bit peeved at something Hiccup might have done, and the way that Ruffnut is looking over at Tuffnut just screams "Something mischevious is about to befall you."

And I swear these two twins are always plotting against each other. They bring a whole new level to sibling rivalry.

I know it will be, but sometimes that's the fun of it. X3 Especially because books for young readers tend to have less spelling errors and whatnot compared to more adult novels.
Lol, it sounds a lot like me and my twister, only without quite so much violence involved. Though i'm sure if we had to share a dragon we'd be a lot less tame and a lot more...rawr about it.

I saw the movie a few days ago and IT WAS TEH EPIC!
Haven't seen much fanfiction of it yet, and most of the fanart seems to revolve around Toothless, but we all know the day is coming.

In the movie, Hiccup had to appear as the scrawniest, smallest viking around. Fishlegs got beefed up so Hiccup wouldn't get any competition
