Still got Avatar on the mind.Rough pencils (actually pretty clean, but still...rough work) of Iroh costume reference notes. Except for the younger Iroh (extreme left, completely invented, story idea too) and the General Iroh (Ba Sing Se siege), the clothes are referenced from screenshots. The thing is, with his general armour, nothing was seen below the breastplate. The big flame design can be seen on other generals' armours in the serie. But the lower part is still just speculation.
Seeing how little Iroh changed over the years, I didn't dare move too far away from his overall look for his younger self.
Eh, that's the thing before starting projects or ideas: notes notes and more notes. See what work, doodles for easy reference during work, etc...Just in case I ever do something with all these.

Stick Daemons make little commentaries apparitions. They tend to do that, but not too often.
Iroh belong to Mike and Bryan, Nickelodeon and Viacom. I'm just having fun drawing him.

Iroh evolution... f*cking awesome. Are you planning to do this for all the mains or just him? *Iroh is so super-special, it should just be him, XP* I'm watching his facial expressions change over the years: cocky; proud (like impressed, I guess); thoughtful/angry?; happy, or at least amused; and forlorn. Perhaps that's his 'Zuko's just betrayed me' face? Ah, can't forget uber-happy hot spring face, XP. Wonder if that's how he ran in the Winter Solstice ep. *time to soak my toes~~*

Nah, it's just age that shrinks him a bit (though I tried to stay as consistent as possible with his proportions...tried!)

Your stick daemons are adorable and have such lovely commentary. Great depictions of Iroh, his aging even if you referenced them look so believable. Oh and you just keep enhancing his awesome..ness with every note you give us.

Wow, you do age progression so well! The change in character looks very convincing.^^ Drawing characters consistently is still one of my weaknesses, and I can't imagine doing that for someone with an atypical body build like Iroh would be very easy. Wonderful job!

Actually, the more atypical a body, the easier it is to draw because it has those little quirks that give it all the personality.
