More writing than drawing in this one. Just thought it would be interesting to compare the two scenes, the original animated series one with the movie version.
Though there were no obvious problems with the screen directions per say, it was the whole action- reaction and timing that was awkward in the movie.
Notice that for the animated series, we don't even see one earthbender doing one attack, and yet it is clear and makes sense.
Screen direction in storyboards, cutting and editing is very important. It is the link between the chains of events. It connects with the 180 degree rule :

Please note that this rule can be broken in service to the story, for emotional effect, etc.
As for the "Macarena" in panel 6, I blame this video:

Yeah, pro-TLA kept saying "But they have no HOPE" "They were attacked by MACHINES"
Well, the machines were not present right now, and as far as I'm concerned, a crowd of good Earthbenders (dancing not required) can definitely take down a bulldozer with a landslide... Besides, with all the FREAKING ammunition, who needs hope?!
 Wth MNight!

I almost fell outta my seat because it was so funny watching them dance like that and then only see one tiny little rock fly by.

I actually laughed out loud during the earthbending scene. We see a group of 5+ men doing all these fancy moves, and 15 seconds later, this little rock kind of ambles across the screen. I guess they were trying to make earthbending more "realistic" (as realistic as manipulating the elements can get?), but that scene was borderline ridiculous.

Maybe, but the delayed reaction and timing made for slow moving action.
Even causing confusion sometimes.

really? video? i shall google it... oh, why the hell didn't you do the movie instead of M.Knight Shmuck? al least you have some sense as to what's supposed to be going on in a scene... i fell asleep for 15 minutes, and then i left early... what a waste of $10...

Ouch about the falling asleep.
Nah, I wouldn't direct it. But I could point my finger at plenty of awesome directors-writers that could do a very good remake.

you could pretty much point at almost every other hollywood director (except Uwe Bole or the guy who did dragonball) and they could make at least a better film...

Who taught that kid safety?
But still adorable.
