You see his pleasant smile and hear the curiosity towards you in his voice, but something seems off. Mostly because in reality Nox could care less about what you have to say. The reason for his habit of engaging in conversations with other people and appear pleasant has its roots in his past back in the days when he still worked in customer service. That "mode", (as he likes to call it), switches on automatically around crowded places and serves as a filter that spares many souls from his foul opinions. After all, the things Nox says and the thoughts he has are often very different from each other.

Those who encounter him only few times rarely have anything bad to say about him, unlike the folk who are stuck with him for too long as his act begins to fall apart with time. The real Nox is rather negative, always finding something to complain about in everything and comes up with excuses to avoid doing things that he isn't very fond of. His motto in life could be: Achieving positivity through negativity, but because of how lazy he is it's very unlikely that he attempts to achieve anything else but an even easier way to live his life. The less effort he has to put into something, the more appealing it will be in his eyes.

Nox thinks that he has all the right to be this way, he suffered so many years behind the cash register, it's about damn time for him to get to say and do whatever he wants whenever he wants, (this is very immature of him, yes). He doesn't lack the ability to feel empathy or sympathy by any means, Nox simply chooses to ignore most of those feelings these days which makes him a rather poor comforter. Unless he reeeaalllyyy tries and even then there's a chance of his words sounding fake. It's just really tiresome to feel bad for someone okay.

Nox's childhood was average to say the least and for him school sucked because putting effort into studying was like poison. At least he turned out to be pretty good with numbers and because of that he ended up getting a job at the local Poke Mart later in his life. After school youngsters went to work, became trainers or just fell through the net and ended up as nobodies. Right? Nox had no desire to become a trainer, too troublesome he said and being a nobody seemed too uncool. So work it was.

It was fine, at first. He didn't have any idea what to do with his life at the time so obviously it was easier to just keep on doing what he was doing in hopes of one day figuring everything out, that's what everyone told him too. You'll get it eventually! That day never came. His usual routine was starting to get more and more frustrating, every day was too much like the last and at times Nox thought about continuing his studies not because he liked it but because it sounded more interesting than what his current life was.

We all have our limits so after reaching his Nox quit his job, packed his bag and left. Just left, no travel plans no nothing, it didn't matter Nox had to get away from his boring life one way or the other. This obviously caused some arguments between him and his parents who were shocked, to say the least, about the sudden change in their son. That was only a minor inconvenience to Nox though, he had have his first taste of true freedom and it felt real good.

Too bad life is kind of complicated, you can't live without money and in order to earn some you must do something. Put effort into it. Such a horrible thought, even thinking about going back to work gave Nox cold chills. All those times he had stood behind the cash register with a customer yelling at him about something utterly ridiculous, forced to smile and just take it in without complaints. Never again. Still, he had to come up with some means to support himself and Nox was pretty sure that he would end up as some nobody selling trash to tourists if things didn’t get better soon. You know, those cheap accessories not made out of legit materials. He still has no job nor a place to call home but he makes due by scamming naive people and doing some odd-jobs here and there.

Whatever change is happening in his life is going very slowly but his current interactions with team Zephyr have certainly steered him towards a rather dark path that he seems to be entirely fine with. Anything for a easy life, right? Only time will tell what kind of life awaits him in the future.
