I like this one a lot, especially the important detail, that the bird is dead.
The main message from BS Infinite being that no matter which decisions you make you will still follow a certain predestined line, never truly experiencing freedom from fate.
But I suppose I might just be overinterpreting this motive here a bit. xD;

No no, I definitely agree with your interpretation! :3 Either way, there's an unavoidable downfall.

I love this piece but I have one question if you don't mind. Why is Rosa holding the bird and Robert holding the cage? I thought it was opposite.

Haha, that's ok, someone asked me that earlier too so here was my reply:
"Well, I guess they both line up with the character that holds them (i.e. the bird lines up with Robert's body, and the cage lines up with Rosalind's.) And also if you notice the symbols in the game, while it seems like the bird is equivalent to freedom and the cage is equivalent to imprisonment, the way the bird's head is positioned almost looks like it could be dead, while the cage is empty. This could in itself be a sign of freedom (as in, the bird is already free of the cage). So with that interpretation, it's actually more fitting to their characters to have Rosalind carry a dead bird (because her sense of morality is more clouded than Robert's, who has a more of a moral conscience), and Robert to carry an empty cage (because he was the one who insisted on bringing Booker in to free Elizabeth from her metaphorical cage)."
And I mean, you can interpret it any way you want, obviously, but I think it's interchangeable. :3 Hope that helps, and glad you like it!

Thanks for the reply, and sorry for bothering you with the same question you already answered. <3 I love the way you stated it, and described Rosa and Rob while not making Rosa seem like.... well you know.

XD I know that. But they both line up with the character that holds them (i.e. the bird lines up with Robert's body, and the cage lines up with Rosalind's.) Thank you for the explanation, It was quite insitful. Thats alright i have no probloms with having philosophical debates.
For Example i would disagree with your assumtion on the cage meaning freedom and the bird meaning imprisonment. Though i have been wandering what the meanings behind both broch's mean but take a looke at the basic symbolisoms. The bird is not dead, but flying downward in a dive with its wings folded in. Colombia is a 'flowting city/battleship' so it would make sense on that note that the bird represents freedom. The cage obviusly repressents imprisonment as Elizabeth's/Anna's home, Memorial Island, as well as Colombia itself, is just one big cage with Songbird as its guard and Comstock as a warden who, like Fizroy, wants to use Elizabeth/Anna for their own perpose's and cause's.

RunawayKid In reply to graveseller [2013-04-28 11:48:58 +0000 UTC]
XD That would be the conventional interpretation, yes. Which is why most people choose the bird, having just sprung Elizabeth from her cage. But you could also interpret it as I have, which is an alternative option that most people don't think of. It's just an intepretation.

graveseller In reply to RunawayKid [2013-04-28 14:52:28 +0000 UTC]
It maybe a alternative interpitation but still it sound like somthing worth following. Unfortunatly i only have the game for a sort period and will have to return it soon. However i will look into it and see were it might lead.
Im starting to thank that Elizabeth/Anna as a kind of songbird that has the apperance of a Bluejay.
