Description
Maximum Overdrive, for those unfamiliar with it, was Stephen King's coke-fueled foray into directing, about machines coming to life and murdering everything in their path. As a proper horror film, it's terrible. As a horror comedy, it's fantastic. It also features Emilio Estevez fighting a Green Goblin-faced truck with a rocket launcher. Springtrap only wishes he could have a rocket launcher right about now.
Next week: boss fight proper!
FNAF and all its characters belong to Scott Cawthon, not me.

I actually did a research. Assuming Springles got springlocked around the time of FNaF 2 (He said twenty-odd years in the suit, so maybe a couple years after) He could have seen Maximum Overdrive. FNaF 2's night 5 happens on November 12, 1987 (as evidenced by the check you get) and FNaF 3 and the burning of Springtrap is 30 years later. Maximum Overdrive came out onΒ July 25, 1986. That gives Purple Guy time to see the movie before being horrifically shredded and crushed inside the Springtrap suit.

Yeah, I've tried to make sure that any movie or song referenced by Springtrap or used in a flashback would be in-period for the 80s. (He died sometime in the early 90s, post-closing of the final version of the restaurant.)

He did die in the FNAF 1 pizzeria around 1993 or 1994, considering FNAF 1 took place in 1993. He rotted for 30 years actually, which leads to 2023 (Fazbear's Fright, FNAF 3).

"I saw Maximum Overdrive, this won't end well"
eeeh...that is a tough argument...when a wood chipper can act on its own...thats not necessarily a good thing

Oh, it's just
A giant wooden chipping machine with a face.
And teeth.
And it can move on its own.
No biggie.

I believe Spring Bonnie regrets bringing Springles right about now. I've never seen Maximum Overdrive, but it sounds like a good movie!

Strictly speaking, it's not. But if you're up for about two hours of 80s B-grade horror insanity, it's a lot of fun. Some kind soul stuck a montage on deaths on Youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZKZ1mβ¦

Maximum Overdrive's kinda like the later Nightmare on Elm Street films. You're supposed to think of them as stupid, but they're stupidly fun movies. Plus nothing beats a film with a soundtrack by AC/DC.

Wow, lots of explosions! My favorite of that video was probably the ATM machine just "mouthing off" that dude. I probably laughed more than I should have!

That dude is actually Stephen King. (God knows if he even remembers filming that scene. Apparently much of the 80s is...hazy...for him.)
