I guess the squirrel was scratching itself. Yes the leg is blurred a little, I wanted to capture some motion in this image.Related content

lol wow. I don't think I've ever seen a squirrel do this. This is an amazing picture. The quality is so good, I feel like it's something that I'm actually looking at, and not just a picture.

I'm wanting a Nikon D50. I'm really impressed with what it can do, and I know that it's going down in price, so I'm just tyring to bide my time, but it all depends on this ebay bid... if somebody outbids me, then well, I'm going to have to wait for awhile :-/ I so need money.

I'm pretty sure its discontinued. Since they have a few models above it the D70 (which maybe now too) the D100, and my favorite of the Nikon lineup the D200 thats an awesome camera, its the one I'd get if I didn't shoot Canon. I just don't like the cameras like the D50 and Rebel XT, the burst rate isn't enough. I shoot alot of sports so I like the 5fps that my Canon 20D has, until I can get the Mark II N with its 8.5fps, I'm happy.

I don't think it's discontinued... it's a hot seller. But alas, got outbid on ebay so, no D50 today :-/
OH, I would LOVE the thousand dollar cameras like the 20 and 30d, but unfortunately, I can't even pay $400 for a camera right now

I wanted the blur in the leg to convey motion, rather than it being static and appear as if he was just sitting there, this way you can tell he is scratching without me having to say so. I got him by being patient, waiting there for quite awhile, and a 300mm focal length lens helped.

I live on a farm. So they're wild, but used to people if you give them time to adjust to you standing there, also I'm sneaky and quiet.

I live near a forest, were they prefer to go deep in to the wild instead of being near humans

I live near it too, but apparently the grain that we feed to our cattle ends up all over the place so they enjoy coming out to feast.

hah anyway, i like the tiny bit of motion. i usually don't like photos with lots of motion in it.
