Personality: Normally, Cobalt is very kind and friendly towards most, and is willing to put his own happiness aside for the sake of making someone else happy. However, if anyone hurts or insults his friends or he's in a battle, his true dragon nature emerges; he becomes very vicious and unpredictable. He's a very skilled fighter, and has been trained in combat since he was a hatchling (around 6-ish dragon years). Being a dragon, living amongst other, more vicious dragons, he had to learn how to fight and be stronger than his enemies. However, he does know when to stop fighting, a personality trait most other dragons lack. For example, if his enemy is down and unable to defend itself or continue fighting, he will stop attacking.
Background: Cobalt hatched in a cave outside Equestria, in the land of the dragons, under the watchful, loving eyes of his parents, Solaria and Boreas. When Cobalt was very young (around 2-ish dragon years), his mother brought home an egg that had been abandoned, and told Cobalt that he was going to be a big brother. Soon after, the egg hatched into a small, green and yellow female dragon chick, whom Solaria named Fern for her green coloring. From the moment Fern hatched, she and Cobalt were inseparable. They did everything together; they played, ate, and even got in trouble together! One day, when Cobalt had grown old enough, his mother decided to take him on a trip to the Everfree Forest in Equestria so she could look for some rare herbs that grew only there. Unfortunately, Fern was still too young, and had to stay behind with their father, much to Cobalt's dismay. While his mother was looking for the herbs, Cobalt decided to sneak off and explore. Soon, he met Emberheart, and the two of them became fast friends. At first, Solaria wasn't entirely keen on her son being friends with a pony, but she soon grew to care for the young filly as if she were another daughter. Soon after, it was time for Cobalt to learn how to properly defend himself, and he was sent to a dragon training school. While he excelled at training against dummies, when it came time for him to test his strength against his fellow classmates, he showed little interest. He didn't want to accidentally hurt his partner. However, after he lost repeatedly to his training partners, he gradually overcame this shortcoming and grew stronger than most of his classmates. From there, he only continued to improve until his training was complete. As an adolescent, Cobalt has become a very skilled fighter, and not many can best him, save for adult dragons.
Additional info: While his fire and ice elements would normally clash, he doesn't have any problems using both (though he can't use both at the same time)
