Description A design I came up with while taking apart a TIE Interceptor so I could build it into another TIE craft, I basically cooked this thing up as a "spur of the moment" type thing.

Taking the wings from my Interceptor and combining them with the cockpit of the TIE Droid, I came up with the TIE Droid Interceptor.

The regular TIE Droid was pretty mean on its own, but imagine if there was an Interceptor version...I'm sure we all have suddenly recalled "fond" memories of playing the first Rogue Squadron, the mission at Mon Calamari, when our V-Wings ran out of cluster missiles...

Pfft. Try shooting the fucks down with a Y-Wing. Then you can complain.

Of all the Imperial fighters, the Interceptor was my fav. Nice one bro.

Oh yeah? For me, its the Advanced x1. There's another TIE variant I like, but it wasn't an Imperial made variant.
Much thanks. =3

Yup, the triangular wings gave it a mean look. . .stuck with me ever since I saw it in Return of the Jedi.

Ah, I see.
Well, maybe you'll like this, the TIE Clutch:

The top wing carries an ion cannon, while the lower two wings carry laser cannons. Dunno if more guns can be installed on the "chin' of the ball cockpit, the one place they appear never mentions it.

They also have modest shields, and though my Lego version doesn't show it (due to lack of parts), the sides of the ball cockpit have had holes cut in them and viewports installed to enhance pilot visibility.

They're still quick and nimble despite the added mass of the shield generator; they're about equal to a Z-95 Headhunter in capabilities, if not more so.

Is it a custom model? I have a similar one, but it's just an ordinary interceptor, and it looks a little different.

Yes, its custom.
I took the wing assemblies off a TIE Interceptor, and put them on the cockpit of the TIE Droid fighter.

The TIE Droid is a bit tricky to get...it was never released on its own. It was only available as part of a collection, the TIE Collection Set (10131).

I procured mine on eBay, someone was selling just the TIE Droid, not the complete set.
