So is this going to be your new Star Wars basemap?

Yeah.

Will we see some sort of "eternal emperor" thing with Palpatine (albeit in the sense that Kim il-sung is still the President of North Korea, not in the sense of undead Emperor Palpatine)?

RvBOMally In reply to Whiteshore1 [2017-06-03 21:56:01 +0000 UTC]

Nah, I think I'll go with a more conventional "Empire without an emperor."

Something like a mellowed-out Thrawn Empire? A somewhat less anti-alien military dictatorship that is always insisting just a *little* too strongly that they have no relationship with the First Order, none at all, and furthermore they have no idea where the First Order keeps getting all that Imperial weaponry from?

RvBOMally In reply to Meerkat92 [2017-06-11 03:05:46 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's what I had in mind. They do have another answer for where the First Order gets Imperial weapons: "must be smugglers." Of course, that falls apart when the First Order gets its hands on a superlaser.

Whiteshore1 In reply to RvBOMally [2017-06-08 01:10:15 +0000 UTC]

Well, you could incorporate the "Eternal Emperor" title into the First Order, instead?

RvBOMally In reply to Whiteshore1 [2017-06-08 05:42:31 +0000 UTC]

Nah, the First Order is something entirely different and does not consider itself a continuation of the Empire proper. It's a Sith magocracy that finds more in common with the old Sith empires.

Sounds like a guy who commited a horrible mistake in secret, was asked if everything was okay, then lied about it being such.

Looks like the Hutts got to expand in the post-collapse Chaos.

Well, if there will be no Starkiller Base, i'll be glad for that. Also, I'm glad to see Galactic Empire (nothing personal, I'm pro-Imperial).
Few questions:
1) What would happen with the New Jedi Order, founded by Luke?
2) Will be there Kylo Ren or Darth Caedus?
3) Are the Sith fully exterminated, like in canon?
4) By your opinion, are the Mandalorians neutral?

So the First Order would be the terroristic extremeist/fanatics to the Galactic Empires post Soviet sort of state?

Nice! Is this the same universe as your prequels, or a different one with the canon prequels?

The latter.

Can I expect the TFA cast to be in your take on the sequels?

Yes.

Cool, I've been looking for a good political map of the galaxy in this new canon. When do you expect to post the complete version?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RvBOMally In reply to Beastboss [2017-05-22 07:44:36 +0000 UTC]

This isn't the canon setting, it's how I would have written the sequels.

Beastboss In reply to RvBOMally [2017-05-22 07:52:43 +0000 UTC]

That's cool still, there hasn't much in the way of TFA maps anyway. It seems to me that Coruscant is still part of the Empire despite the people tearing down a statue of Palpatine during Episode 6(Special Edition), kinda surprised in this version they still stuck with the Empire. In terms of power dynamics, is the Galactic Empire comparable to Russia of OTL(kinda powerful but incredibly flawed within)?

Those were pro-Rebel crowds who quickly got gunned down by Imperial troops. Most of the planet was pro-Empire.

Yeah, they're kinda like the Russian Federation to the Soviet Union.

Ah I see makes sense.

mdc01957 [2017-05-22 06:42:29 +0000 UTC]

Looks pretty impressive. Though I'm surprised the "old" Empire is still around, given how it's mentioned many basically pulled a space version of "Fleeing to Argentina" to join the First Order.

This is my own take on TFA, not the canon version.
