Description
READ FIRST: THIS ANIMATION WAS MADE USING MACROMEDIA FLASHTHE MUSIC WAS DONE IN FRUITYLOOPS
THANK YOU.
Just to show you all that I AM working on Dendyn Futures.
Firstly, I'd like to make it known that Dendyn Futures runs at 30fps, unlike Dendyn Dynasties which ran at 25. However, since it's going to be a bit longer than Dynasties, most of the fbf is only going to be animated on every second frame, an anime standard. This means less frames I have to colour and therefore less time taken, and the smoothness still takes only a minimal hit. Maybe after it's on its way to completion, I will go back and fill out some of the blank frames.
The characters are actually a lot harder to draw than in Dynasties, since I'm not omitting any details this time, especially on the Mechs.
You also get to hear a bit of the Dendyn Futures theme, although I won't be allowing that for download until I've done sufficiently more on this animation.
So yeah, this part is mostly showcasing Cyrus and his quicktoe ability as well as the Vulpine Star Mech. I never really got around to animating Rygel's quicktoe on the last Dendyn animation, so Cyrus fills that up nicely here.
Not much of it is coloured yet, sorry about that. It's the most tedious job of the animation process, lol. XB
The Dendyn series and all related material is (c) Ryanide. Do not distribute or use without my permission.
The animation style is inspired from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann this time. It's really given me a great idea on how to do impact and recoil motions.

Macromedia flash 8 and up all have filters that you can put on movie clips to get a blurred effect.

Flash is a good program, I use it sometime when I am not using any 3D programs or stopmotion programs. Good movement and great angles.

Wow I love the fast paced speed of your animations they really make it fun to watch and interesting to the eye. The only prob at parts is you can't easily work out what's happening although they are few and far between. Keep up the great stuff man

This is an interesting animation.
I HIGHLY advise that you keep the numbers in as it bringers back the thrill I got when I first played RPG games such as Final Fantasy, and I think the sudden change in time setting would go down really well as it adds history to the animation's setting and also being a history that fans know of would make this an instant hit with fans and other viewers.

I know I've asked a bunch of questions already, but I've one more, if you'd care to answer:
when you plot these awesome things out, do you do all the animation first, then add music, or do you animate to the music?

To get the copyright symbol, hold alt key and pres 0169 on your number pad. You get ©!
This animation is really smooth. I like the flow of action you have going on here, and it's cool how you applied anime animation techniques into Flash. I'm a graphic design student, and I'm just starting with Flash. I gotta say that stuff like this is inspiring. Thanks for sharing.

hold on a sec... You mean to tell me you did all of this kick ass animation, AND you wrote the song that plays?!?!?!? wow. hats off to you, my friend.
Though I have no critique for you, I do have questions for flash. I'm kinda a noob to it.
when you animate characters, or anything, for that matter, do you use many layers? I mean, is each character just one layer? enlighten me, please! It'd be a great help!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Ryanide In reply to akayla [2008-01-05 11:19:54 +0000 UTC]
I use layers where it's necessary. Sometimes it's easier to have a single character on a single layer, but for some parts that involves tweening, I'll break the character down into parts.

akayla In reply to Ryanide [2008-01-05 22:52:25 +0000 UTC]
so, for the breakdowns when a character's breathing heavily, you'll use multiple layers for one character, right?

Ryanide In reply to akayla [2008-01-07 12:50:13 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, that's a good example for where I'd use that. Mostly for slow moving scenes or parts where the character isn't moving much from its position.
