My pencils to pages 2-3 of Invincible 64. Conquest says goodbye to his cyber arm.The first day of Comicon, July 22nd is when Invincible 64 hits the stands. Hopefully con goers don't hate me for what I did to Eve and all the excessive violence in Invincible lately. There have been a few complaints but MOST people love it, as do I.
I always wanted to see the my favorite super heroes go all out and use their power and see repercussions of a fight between two super-powered beings. But most super-heroes have limits to what they can show because of the companies that own those characters. So It's nice being a part of something that we can go wherever we want and show the fights we always wanted to see, with no one holding us back. Anyway, for you readers out there watching, I hope you dig the issue!

The level of detail you're starting to achieve in these pages reminds me very much of Geoff Darrow... Very much. Which is absolutely awesome.

I was thinking the same thing. I've always liked your work on Invincible and everything I've seen on your DA page but lately there's been a pretty straight line starting with Moebius, through Geof Darrow and down through to you on some really stylized yet realistic and insanely detailed stuff that I just find mind-blowing. I gotta say, between you and Tony Moore, a good amount of the reason I read any given Robert Kirkman book is to see which artist he works with is gonna be next up to join my 'favorite artists' list.

Absolutely amazing panel. I can not wait for this issue on wednesday. I got my friend hooked on Invincible and it's the only comic he buys. Because of your art and the risks you took in the latest issues.
Im not going to lie, I was shocked about Eve, but not mad. It was logical that it would go down that way: She cares about him, she rushed to his side. He'd do that for her. I just didn't think it'd be that brutal. But I liked it because it was a realistic reaction on her part, and Conquest had been established as a brutal sadistic man so his response was appropriate. It fit the story and characters and so you can't be mad about that.
As fans of superhero comics we're conditioned to believe that this can't happen so we're shocked and angered when it does rather than being happy that it CAN.

some people complain about the length of this fight, but sir... IT'S AWESOME just to look at it. It doesn't matter that the story stopped for a while - I can enjoy these fine panels for hours!

just another example of why invincible is one of the best looking books to come out each month. I know A lot of fans are probably pissed about eve but I commend you guys for having the guts to tell the story that you want to tell, even if some fan favorite characters need to have their guts punched out of there backs in the process.

I'm actually very afraid to see what happens to Atom Eve since Kirkman built her up for so long and then for him to just whisk the rug out from under us all like that....is pure genious and ultimately; truly fucking evil! The art looks great as usual and I can't wait to find my copy sitting in my subscription box!
