Ah, Ryky's white knights are here! Yes, I agree that he would need a reference to know what the outfit and the character look like so that they can draw them correctly.Β
But referencing and copying someone else's artwork are two completely different things. If he drew Anna in a totally original pose without copying any part of anyone else's artwork, then I would consider that reference. In this case though, he drew her in the same exact pose as in the other artwork (Look closely at the collar of her dress, the shape of the lips, and the position of her eyes, those areas are also eerily similar between the two images).Β
Sure, it's not copied exactly since he changed the position of one of her braids and shaded a little differently, but judging by how odd the areas that he did differently than in the original artwork look (for example, the left eyebrow), I'd say that he relied pretty heavily on his "reference". I consider that to be copying.Β He didn't even give the artist that he stole this from any credit, which makes it worse.Β Plus, since he's stolen and traced other people's artwork and photographs before, so I wouldn't find it so hard to believe that he'd copy again.Β
