Seriously, Im thinking of trying one of these myself... Seems to be the flavor of the month drawing here, doing a traditional thing, putting a bunch of pencils near the drawing, and taking a terrible pic with a cellphone cam... Gets on the front page every time

Can you people just not appreciate a beautiful piece of art without arguing? Maybe anyone can do it but I don't see anyone else that has! They said the same thing about Picasso's work too you know.

Well, maybe you have the point, but in kind of opposite way. Just because someone calls it "beautiful piece of art" doesn't mean everyone will love it. I also don't really appreciate most of Picasso's work.

I understand. Thats kind of the point of art isn't it? Its an opinion but the thing is that it is a big step for an artist to put his/her work out there and while constructive criticism is one of the most helpful things, Simply saying that 'anyone can do that' is not a very nice thing to say at all. Artists are very temperamental creatures and are rarely proud of their own work so as my mother would say, 'if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything'
And I'm not a fan of Picasso either

You're right, it was not constructive critism, it was just an opinion that can't really help the artist; true. 
On the other hand, I've never agreed to the "if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything", because we all kinda need to see our faults to improve them, right? So... yeah. We should have said something helpful. Okay.
It's easy to see the artist could have spend more time on those pictures. The effects in Photoshop are kinda cheap, they could be done with more patience, with more details, the eyes could be not just brighten-up, but also re-drawn to make them shine. And also all the eyes look almost the same, I would prefer if the artist spend more time on single pieces rather than create a lot of them with little effort - quality over quantity.
