i just noticed the first bubble sketch looks like a sad smiley face xD

Purple bubble: amethyst
Green bubble: peridot
Blue bubble: lapis lazuli
Orange bubble: Jasper

It's actually kinda easy to tell with the brushes and looking at the hardness
of each brush and looking at each stroke, but I suppose not everyone can do that, ahhhh
I do agree with the layers however, but I assume the glossy shine is overlay and the glow is lumosity.

I recommend using the same layer, its how I role. And with highlights, use another layer to make sure you got it right, then murge it down.

I'd rather use separate layers as it's easier to do with highlights and glowing effects.
For the duller parts, I'd use the same layer since it's mainly blending.
