A picture for my beloved manga Candy candy.And a note for anyone who like Terrance Glanchester ( Terry), the one in the picture is Albert :">. I like him form the very beginning i read the story. It's over 10 years up to now, and when i enjoyed the story again, i love him even more
. I love to think about him as Candy's sweet caring Mr Albert. Terry has enough anything to be her deserve lover, yet Albert is the one who always stands behind her, the one who truly looks after her with cherish, sympathy and understanding. Candy likes Anthony because he's like her Prince on the hill. After that she pays attention to Terry the first time because Terry reminded her to Anthony. The sequence all comes from her memory of the Prince on the hill. In certain ways Albert presents in the story form the very beginning till the end. I hope they can be a couple, even if not, i still prefer the guardian-and little girl relationship. Although it's different from fairy tales that the little girl, after years chasing the prince in her treasure memory, finally don't have feelings for him like a lover, but rather like a brother. TT__TT Frankly speaking CandyCandy has a good ending, however ... still feel like regret T___T.
But after all, at the end of the manga she is only 17-18 years old. Who know what will comes then, so i still keep my believe .

Wonderful fanart of Candy and Albert. Everything is so beautiful! I love Candy's dress and all the details you have drawn. Congratulations. It's one of the best fanarts of this couple I have seen. You should draw more fanarts of this couple.

I also agree with your words! I read the story over and over again and throughout the years i keep falling in love more and more with Mr. Albert. I do believe Candy ends up having more than just "brotherly" feelings for Albert. Remember this is a japanese manga and I believe the writer tried to imply that she finally found the love she always dreamed of and could never get from her previous love interests. I feel like the story was always a lovestory of Candy and Albert that little by little developed into the grand finalle.

wow is beautiful, and I share your idea, the end of Candy is the return to first love, Albert is not large enough to be father of Candy, I prefer to believe that she realized at the end of love respectful and quiet that always felt for her and this picture is really my idea of the end of Candy Candy

The truth is that they could be lovers. Only because Albert was her first love, and the last to stay with her at the end of the story. I don't know if she has feelings for him. But he definitely has feelings for her (although he is the "older brother-guardian" character). Hey, he's a man after all! And he could feel for her as Jean Valjean felt for his protegee Cosette in the series "Les Miserables" with Gerard Depardieu and Virginie Ledoyen. You would think that a man as old and chaste as Valjean would have nothing but fatherly feelings for the poor little orphan Cosette. But no, at the end he confessed his unfatherly love. It depends on the interpretation!

I do remember the first time I read the manga i could feel the intention of the author of making Albert the second main character of the story.
I agree with you in everything but one thing: they do not end like brothers. Even from the beginning she was IN LOVE with her "prince" (therefore she fell for the other two (Anthony and Thierry who were her first sweet love and her first actual boyfriend, respectively).
And by the start of volume 7 and all of volume 8 the author focuses in how little by little Candy starts having feelings for Albert (not as a sweet cute boyfriend, but as a HUSBAND) a companion for all her life. That´s what love is. I might agree that most of the Albert fans are married or have more mature age... because we know that feeling... of real love.
Happens in real life happens on the manga.
