Just one of the few shots I took while testing out the new Link model for Garry's Mod, ported from Super Smash Bros. Brawl by Gmod developer Luigimario.
This Gmod version of Link includes a number of next-gen enhancements, such as Phong and Rim lighting, as well as Normal maps on his outfit and equipment for richer surface detail. His whole arsenal from Brawl is included, too...Bombs, clawshot, Wind Boomerang, his bow, etc. as well as the alternate color schemes, including the ever-popular Dark Link.
The faceposing could have used a bit more "smiley-ness" but apart from that it seems pretty awesome. I'm definetley going to be using this one over the old Twilight Princess model from now on.

While everyone else is killing each other in the free-for-all match, these two are intelligently standing on the sidelines chatting and flirting. Right now, it looks like Link is asking Samus out on date. And she looks a little flattered that he is. But she's still going to play hard to get.

Uh, yes, you do need a Valve game to run Gmod, or at least one that runs on Valve's Source Engine. It's required for the game to even work.

Oh well, I'm finnaly getting TF2 soon so as long as my computer is good enough, I won't have any problems and I won't sue gateway for the crap they sold me on 4/20/09 as a gaming computer.

Did they finish the Ike model? I never go on facepunch anymore, it makes me uncomfortable. So I only have the Ike beta version. Which as you know only has one of his hands pose-able. You don't have to link or anything, I just would like to know if it actually is done.
I can deal with him not being so smiley, the one we have now has a constant sex face if you try and face pose him. (Not that it's a bad thing for me, but there are times when I want the guy to look bad ass.)

I don't know, I wasn't keeping track of the Ike one so much. I don't think he's done...I could be wrong, though. Why, going to make some lame Yaoi sex poses? D:
Anyways I hope they port Zelda and Ganondorf from Brawl soon so we can have better models then the ones currentley available. The Zelda model from TP has excellent faceposing and is rigged well, but her colors are dreadfully desaturated, it makes her skin look grey. A princess as beautiful as Zelda deserves better!
Besides, I want to make some more ZeLink poses.

Shrug, I can live with it being a constant balled fist. Though I might take a look and see if it is in working order now. All of the TP models seem to suffer from an over-darkening issue and lack of proper lighting. Guess the person didn't make the UV maps right.
It would have been nice if the Ganondorf had some faceposing, he just kinda looks like he's mildly annoyed at all times.
Ike and Link are going to go on awesome adventures with Lucario and Rayman, kicking all sorts of zombie ass. If they want a little alone time though I won't mind.

The "lack of lighting" are a texture and material issue. The colors of the characters are simply too desaturated and there's no Phong used at all in them, just Lambert.
