Alright so I have another spaceship pic up.

The Steron class patrol ship is a relatively small light escort vessel. For most sci fi settings it would be the rough equivalent of a frigate or a Destroyer escort. The ship is smaller than a full sized fleet escort and is slower. Where as a fleet escort needs a fair amount of speed to adequately escort cruisers and battlecruisers, the Steron is not intended for that role, mostly designed around escorting slow auxiliary support ships or civilian vessels, so its speed is a good bit slower than a regular fleet escorts, generally only matching a battleship on a good day. But its engines are very simple and easy to manufacture, and they dont take up as much space either, so a Steron is able to devote a greater proportion of its volume to weapons and supply load, giving it a somewhat better operational range than the larger Loria class fleet escort despite being much smaller.

This is not however a ship for someone whom wants to go on wild adventures however. When this ship isn't babysitting auxiliary vessels or civilian ships, it is going out on long duration patrols within friendly territory or around jump gate lines to patrol for pirate or raider activity. More often than not, these patrols are boring, uneventful voyages, where the most interesting thing that happens is the occasional asteroid target practice. This is also not helped by the fact that crews are quite small, generally only 22-30 sentient individuals, so individuals assigned to this ship better hope that there is no one on board that they hate, otherwise its going to be a very very long voyage. In short these ships dont live very interesting lives, but they do an important job for the OISU, if an underappreciated one.
