Description
My first tutorial =/////w/////=Most experienced PS, SAI, or whatever users probably know how to do this-but for the beginning digital artist, this may be good practice (well-coloring-wise).
The lazy way to coloring your pencil sketches :]
And if you don't understand it-feel free to ask me questions

It's a great tutorial! I think many who don't know about this will be happy. It's also very easy to follow, you're very clear about what to do and the explaining is good too. Nice work!

Woah! Thanks a ton! I've wanted to do something for a friend, then I was wondering whether or not to color it in PS, but it was painful just to think of redrawing/reinking... (I needed the finished drawing quickly >_>) Thanks again!

It's really well made, but I follow something similar with sai, but not quite...

Sai allows you to multiply the sketch layer too :]. From there you can color underneath it. Perhaps I'll do one for Sai another time ^^

Actually, you can't do that with GIMP. You have to go through a different process to do it.

So, when u colored in the skin, did u manually color it in (as in using a brush and erasing when necessary) or r u able to use the wand or something to select the areas u wanted to color??? 'Cuz when i just scan pic and use wand, it doesnt grab the area i want. Rather, it just grabs the whole pic, so i end up making a lineart......which takes FOREVER!!! XD

I color it in manually in the Skin layer and erase around the sloppy bits :], but to make things easier, you could use the magnetic lasso too (hold down the lasso tool and you should see it. The lasso tool is above the wand) and it will grapple onto your lineart :] :[link]
I hope that helps

Yes ^^
Do you use a different program? I know that Sai has a selection tool, but it's just like a brush, and you clean up the edges and then use the paint bucket tool to fill in the selection :]

Oh, ok Yeah, i use SAI. But, i think this way would be a lot easier than tracing over the sketch to make a lineart XD I'm gonna start doing this now!! Thanks for the help!
