Description
This is an old prototype elastic powered crossbow. The elastic is released by a rolling nut firing mechanism. My Dad used to make similar devices when he was a child. He'd cut a bicycle inner tube into strips and then plat them into a rope. It was then used to propel the bolt/dart.Related content

i've been thinking of making a crossbow too, but the rolling nut system and trigger have got me really confused! lol

Hi! Is the blue part directly attached to the trigger? Or does it have multiple splines, where the trigger catches in the same way as the rubber?

The accuracy is pretty reasonable. The design still needs a little fine tuning. I'd like to build a full size version at some point.

This is very fascinating. You're so good with materials. I'd probably bleed to death from all the cuts if i tried to make one of these. Kudos!
