Well, technically, she WASN'T right, as multiple other sources have confirmed that the Force is not the malevolent entity she portrayed it as, but she's a good villain regardless, and I do love the customs you've done. But then I've been a fan of your work for, oh, some twelve or so years now?

It's really funny you made this at this time, as I just finished watching videos on Kreia's philosophy and just started my first play-through of Kotor II.

Honestly, Kreia has a lot of good points. With the eternal war between Dark and Light sides spanning *tens of thousands* of years, causing countless deaths, one does have to wonder if the galaxy would be better off without the Force.
That's what I like about KOTOR2. It takes the SW universe to its logical extremes and asks tough questions. Credit to the awesome Chris Avellone.

P.S.: There's a mod for the PC version of KOTOR2 that restores a lot of content that the developers had to cut due to time restraints. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I've heard it really improves the ending. Something to look into, at least. Oh, and thanks for the fav, Mr. Eredar!

Except that isn't really the Force's fault; multiple sources have confirmed that the Force is neither a God in the traditional Abrahamic sense, nor is it insidious or malevolent or some kind of evil chess master. It works to promote and sustain life, as the living are the ones who generate the Living Force in the first place. There IS a Dark Side, but that's supposed to be avoided; the conflicts that happen that Kreia uses to justify herself are nearly always with Dark Siders as the aggressors, and the Light Siders as the defenders. Also, people in SW do have free will and agency (contrary to Kreia's belief that they're all puppets). The Force does also have a will/desires, but people have to decide if they want to act in accordance with those desires or not (again, the Force is not a sadistic, manipulative deity). It IS suggested that now and then the Force gives people a nudge, but only ever in the right direction (such as Palpatine's defeat in RotJ). But people still have free will and agency in-universe.

Not to mention that KotoR II gives us a Galaxy that hasn't exactly benefitted from the absence of the Jedi, and is also filled with non-Force Sensitives who are cruel and oppressive to those around them (criminals on Nar Shadda, Czerka Corporation, the HK-50 Assassin Droids, Azkul and his mercenaries, etc.). That to me would seem to disprove the idea that the Galaxy would be better off without the Force; you'd still have awful, oppressive people but no Jedi to protect or help anyone. That's not really better. It would be like arguing we should all abandon technology; yeah, it's been used for evil, but it's also been used for good. We don't use the evil as an excuse for getting rid of it altogether.

This is actually my problem with KotoR II: it tries so hard to be a cynical and mean-spirited deconstruction without actually doing a very persuasive job of proving it's case for why the Force is evil or conventional Star Wars tropes or morality are so terrible. Again, the state of the Galaxy in KotoR II suggests that the Jedi ARE needed, not the opposite. And yes, there have been large scale wars and killings, but that tends to be the Dark Sider's fault. Were it not for the Light Siders (who don't actively seek conflict and would prefer to never have wars ever), the destruction would be worse. So if Avellone's goal was to denounce Star Wars or the Force, I don't think he succeeded all that well (nor I am all that sure what possessed him to even try and denounce the Force in the first place).

I certainly don't think Avellone's goal was to denounce Star Wars or the Force. I don't think he was even saying Kreia was right. He was just pushing the logic of the SW universe to its extremes to see where it led, to make for an interesting story with a more interesting villain than the usual "Muahaha let's destroy planets!" guy like Darth Malak. The fact that KOTOR2 is divisive and sparks lots of discussion shows that Avellone succeeded, in a way, since people still talk about it. If you read interviews with Avellone about KOTOR2, it's clear that he cares a lot about the story, the characters, the universe, etc.

Though it's been years and years since I last played the game, so I can't remember enough of the details to discuss it in depth, I'm afraid.

Ya I am using the mod right now. I haven't gotten to the new planet yet but I know from other videos that it also adds more to certain romances in the later parts of the game, so that should prove interesting.
