Description
A look into the as-yet-unfinished colored version of my lion fight. There's still shading and highlights to do and some things to finish with the underpainting. ΒRelated content

That's the reason why having a brother is always useful; especially in nature !
(You know co-operative relative male lions tends to rule their pride for a very long time)

That they do. But not all lions in a coalition are brothers. They are often times friends and allies that have met up during their years alone.Β

Wait; Really ?
Other than brothers, the non related male lions really could form coalitions\alliances ?!
I didn't know that; that will change my opinion about male lions intelligence

It's true. Jericho and Cecil were not brothers. Everyone called them brothers, but DNA tests proved them to be unrelated.

Poor Cecil thought...
At least his intelligence luckily pass to his cubs

All lions do this, not just Cecil and Jericho. Plenty of unrelated males form coalitions to strengthen their hold on their prides.

I am astonished ! I never heard lions could make such complex friendships !
I heard about domesticated cheetah; but this is truly amazing !
Lions are much more complex than I previously thought

They are indeed. Also, in the wild, cheetah brothers (or in some rare cases, fathers and sons) usually stay together for life and hunt together, allowing them to hunt larger prey.
