Claude Faustus, butler of the Trancy Estate, was not as he seemed. He was a demon, a spider demon at that. Claude could weave a web of lies very easily. The spider was caught though, in a web of pain and anger. Claude Faustus was once a married man, but the relationship hadn't lasted long before Lucifer himself had to break it apart.

Claude was crossing the main hall, when he spotted Hannah Annafellows. He had planned on ignoring her when he saw Canterbury skirt past, avoiding Hannah at all costs. Claude stopped, spotting a hand-print on Canterbury's face. "Canter." Claude called softly, the younger demon walked over quietly. Claude gently cupped the demon's face, examining the mark.

"I dropped a few plates." Canterbury whispered, eyes tearing up. Claude nodded slightly, running his thumb over Canterbury's cheek, then walking towards Hannah. Before she could escape, Claude grabbed her wrist, and pulled her outside. Once in the woods, the screaming match occurred. Claude hated his former wife, who was cruel to their triplets. The marriage between Claude and Hannah had been arranged, he had never liked her, really. His relationship had been strictly because of duty to her. When the triplets had been born, he had ignored his wife, stepping completely into a role of a father.

Hannah had tried to drown the triplets once. The fight that had ensued had been so big, Lucifer broke everything off before Hell got destroyed. Claude absolutely hated Hannah since then.

That wasn't the last time Hannah hurt them. Timber, the oldest, had scars from being beaten bloody, he would have died if Claude hadn't come home early. Canterbury had been sold into Slavery, his father had to go to great lengths to get him back. Thompson, the youngest, was commonly screamed at and belittled. Smacked around if Claude wasn't nearby.

Now, they both worked for the same master, causing tension. Claude felt nothing as he threw Hannah violently against a tree. He faintly heard someone scream 'Dad' but he continued fighting the injured Hannah. "Daddy! Stop!" Arms wrapped around Claude's waist, and Claude looked down to see Thompson bawling against his chest. "Don't kill her.... Please Papa..." Thompson begged. Claude wrapped his arms around his son, swaying gently.

"I won't Thompson." Claude promised gently. Once Thompson was calm, Claude guided Thompson to the manor. The triplets were all afraid of Hannah, but they didn't want their mother dead. When Claude entered, his other two sons latched onto him tightly. They were glad to see him alright.

No other incidents happened for a while, but Claude never relaxed. He did, however, fall in love with his Master. It was against demon laws to love a human, but that didn't stop Claude from one day kissing his Master. His sons were hoping their father got together with the blonde earl.

One night, when Claude and his boys were quietly playing outside, careful not to wake the Earl, the trio heard something they never expected. A laugh. From Claude. They hadn't heard that in such a long time, they thought their father had forgotten how to. Crying tears of joy, they hugged their father tightly, glad he was happier again. Things were looking up for them.
