The scene this is from shows -Sentinel- putting his arm across Elita's shoulders, not Optimus. Personally, I think you could argue for any combination of these three in a romantic relationship.

I love Sentinel, he just has such a possible deep characterization of traumatized aft.
I'm still combing TFA but what it seems like, he online to be in the elite guard boot camp and was named by Kup. If that not a push to do great things, being named by a war vet. So he a bit of a jerk, but I find him in boot camp to be sort of jock like.
Then Elita dies and I think he really did love her and things go to hell.
TFA me personally, the autobots have so many level of corruption.
You can't punish one half of a team... and get Sentinel some trauma counseling you idiots.

I agree! There's just so much you can do with him, what with his history and his attitude. I agree that Elita dying was definitely very traumatic for him- he's the one who tried to go back for her, after all.

This is beautiful-- it really shows a different time in all of their lives so well. The colors really pop, and the background looks nice too. ^^
Also: I see what you did with Sentinel's hand there. I wholeheartedly approve.

That's really what I wanted to do with this one; show them as they appeared before things went south, all happy and teasing and enjoying being together.

When they're walking away from their shuttle in "Along Came a Spider", Sentinel is the one who puts his arm around her, not Optimus. (And I just happen to like Sentinel/Elita just as much as Optimus/Elita.)

I love the colouring, here...I can't explain it, but I think I want to say the wash of them. The lines are fantastic, too! They're very bold and sharp, veeery attention grabbing. The background's great, it's very simple and smooth, very much there without overpowering the characters. This is just an amazing piece all around. X3

Oh, you wouldn't be the first. I have a friend who love love loves him and I'm just like "WAT." >8/ And we have lolarguments. It's great. XD
But but he leaves Optimus hanging! Which only compounds his earlier jerkiness--well, later chronologically, earlier-seen--over 9000!!!111!!! times when we find out that Optimus totally stuck his neck out and was completely accountable while Sentinel was more than happy to let him take all the blame. In fact, the way it happened, not only was it jerky, he probably believed it was all Optimus's fault, too. Even though if not for Optimus, Sentinel would be just as much a "washout" as he was, probably even more, and he rags on Optimus the entire tire. It's like Sentinel's Assholery is pathological, it's so deeply ingrained, man.

I think by that point he'd probably at least partially convinced himself that it was Optimus' fault, or was at least trying very hard to do so. He strikes me as being almost completely unable to deal with embarrassment or guilt, and we've seen how long he can hold a grudge. Which obviously doesn't make it right, but...
The boy's definitely got Issues. His assholery might be on pathological levels, but I tend to see it as stemming from him being so incredibly insecure that he can't stand ever being wrong. Which still makes him an ass, but one that I find interesting enough to want to see him being able to grow a bit.
Lol, now he and Optimus need to sit down and have some drinks so Optimus can deliver the smackdown in that 'I just want to make things better!' way of his. XD

His being terribly insecure is certainly feasible, and it'd be fuuun to see this developed. Marty Isenberg is absolutely ammaaaazing. I'm just wondering what it would take to jumpstart that development. I've been waiting for that to happen fooooreeever. XD Here's hoping they actually do the Animated comic, argh. >_<

It would take lots and lots of time and perseverance, I think. He did apologize to Optimus at one point, and then call Optimus for help, even if he kinda... reverted after both times. Whatever it takes, I'm sure he'd be kicking and screaming the entire way. XD
