     Judgment of the Past
     Prologue

     The sound of footsteps echoed throughout the forest as the half demon sped through the trees at lighting speed. "Kagome hold on" Inuyasha thought to himself as he leapt from tree to tree. The sent of her blood was strong and he knew that meant one thing, danger. "God" he thought, "what the hell is going on"?  The village was soon coming into sight where he could see what was happening.  What he saw only made him run faster. The whole village was on fire and Naraku was floating above it. --------------
     "Run Kagome" shouted Miroku, "get out of here with Kerara and save the kids" Miroku didn’t know what was going on but hell had broke loose and they were totally unprepared for it. "What was Naraku doing here destroying the village, I thought we destroyed him several years ago" thought Miroku to himself. "He can’t surely be alive, and if he is, why isn’t my wind tunnel coming back"? Everything just seemed like a dream, like it all wasn’t real and would end at any moment. But its wasn’t and he knew it all too well.
      Miroku ran down the hill of the shrine towards his and Sangos hut. "Dear Buddha, please let my wife and kid be alive" whispered Miroku to himself. The once peaceful hillside of the village was now ravaged with fire and destruction because of Naraku’s wrath. "Sango, Naru" shouted Miroku, "Where are you"? Running down as fast as he could while avoiding burning foliage and debris, Miroku scanned the upcoming horizon.  A wave of relief passed over Miroku as he looked towards his hut and saw Kagome followed by Sango exiting the hut with both of their kids.  "Miroku, what’s going on here" asked Sango? "Why is Naraku still alive, wait does that mean that you’re wind tunnel is back"? "No" replied Miroku,” I don’t know what's going on here, it’s like he just appeared   out of nowhere". Miroku looked over to Kagome, "are you ok" he asked noticing the series of cuts on her arm. Apparently she had sustained an injury on the way to their hut. I’m fine" she replied, "I am just glad Sango and the kids down here aren’t harmed. Kagome held her child close in her arms, "stay close to mommy ok Yomi" said Kagome. “I will mommy" spoke the white haired little girl.      ---------------------
     "Damm it all to hell" cursed Inuyasha, "why didn’t I smell that cursed    wretch Naraku"?  Inuyasha was nearing the edge of the village when an explosion ripped through the opposite end of town with fiery tendrils ripping throughout the air. "Kagome.......Yomi......." he screamed! ”You better not have done anything to them Naraku”. “Because if you do, I’ll rip you from limb from limb. -----------------------
Sango flew backwards with extreme force as the blast from Naraku’s last attack had hit their hut directly. Thankfully she had just handed Naru to Miroku, before the blast. The dust had settled around the now decimated burning hut and Sango could see the outline of Kagome and Miroku running towards her with the kids. “Sango are you ok” shouted Kagome? “Yes I’m fine” replied Sango, “how are the kids”? “”Their fine sweetie” replied Miroku, “but we need to get them out of here and to a safe place”. ------------------------------
“Ahhhh we meet again you wretched half demon” sighted Naraku with a sickeningly sweet sound to his voice. “I hope it’s a painful surprise to see me here, because I will finally strike my revenge upon you for the trouble you caused me several years ago”. “You know Naraku” chided Inuyasha, as he whipped the Tetsaiga from its sheath transforming it to its full fan form. “All I hear with those lips of yours flapping is blah, blah, blah, I’m a winy little bastard “.  “Is that so” smirked Naraku? “Yeah” snarled Inuyasha, “because I don’t plan on wasting any time on defeating you”!  ---------------------------
      “Shippo get the kids out of here on Kerara” shouted Miroku, “were going to go help Inuyasha”! “ I want to stay and fight” protested the young fox demon.  “No” demanded Sango in a rather firmer than usual voice. “The children need to be safe, both you and Kerara need to make sure that that happens….ok”? “Can you do that Shippo” asked Kagome with tears in her eyes, “can you make sure that you will take car of them if we don’t make it”? “I don’t want to leave you guys” cried Shippo with tears streaming down his cheeks.  But after a few quick moments, Shippo collected his composure and collected the kids upon Kerara’s back. --------------
      Off in the distance, a figure sits upon a hill viewing the battle with quaint composure.
“My my, it seems that Naraku’s returned” mulled the hakama robed figure.   Over the village where Battle was, a brilliant light appeared. It was almost deafening and yet sadly beautiful to the naked eye. It finished with a gust of wind, darkness, and then nothing but silence. Except the footsteps of someone walking away,Kikyo walking away.
