Description "Never trust a raven if the sun isn't up! They're probably a crow..."

Age: 11
Lives: San Francisco, CA/Gravity Falls, OR, USA
Born: Piedmont, CA
Position on Bill Cipher's (updated) Wheel: Pine Tree (With Cracked Trunk)

Aries Pines is the child of Dipper Pines.
She was unplanned and came into his life without warning by her mother, whom wanted to give her up for adoption. Dipper had Aries in his final year of high school at only 17 years old.
She mostly takes after her father's side look wise, minus her complexion which she gets from her mother.

Aries can be very shy, thanks in part to her Father's protective nature. Also, being aware that she was an "Accident" often causes her to lose self confidence, even though she knows her father loves her despite this and calls her "The best unexpected thing to ever happen in his life."

She has a strong bond with her father and William (Possessed by Bill Cipher), who frequently is looking after her while her father works long hours to try and save up to buy them a house.
Her relationship with her Aunt Mabel isn't very good, giving her father isn't too keen on her visiting Gravity Falls and because of the distance between the two and Dippers long hours of work, there is barely enough time to plan visits.

However, the summer of Aries' 11th birthday, Dipper is offered a job of a lifetime that could ultimately get them out of their run-down and un-safe apartment and in able to do the hours required, gives in and sends Aries up to Gravity Falls to spend the summer with her Aunt.
But when Bill Cipher tricks her father and sends him to the void, to Aries and Mabel, it appears as if Dipper vanished without a trace, hinting heavily that he planned to abandon Aries.

Naturally Aries can't grasp that to be true and sets herself on a mission to find her dad. Even if it means seeking the help of the supernatural of Gravity Falls and having an entire town turn against her, to do so.

Trivia:
Aries, despite her name, is actually a Pisces (Born February 18th.)
She also shares the same symbol on the Cipher Wheel as her father, but the base of the trunk is split in the middle and meets up again.

That's a cool touch, her being a different zodiac sign than her actual name. I don't know much about this show yet, but it seems really fun and kooky and kinda cute! (One of my friends who's a fan linked me the first episode, and I liked it quite a lot; I hope I can find a cheap-ish DVD or two somewhere to see some more, as time goes on, me being a dinosaur without Netflix as usual. ) Aww, I hope Aries gets to know Mabel better as time goes on. And I'm glad Dipper seems to be a responsible and loving dad to her in your story. I remember, when I was a preteen, talking with a distant relative of mine who was "unplanned" and sometimes suffered from the same insecurities... but I'm sure Dipper's kindness helps Aries overcome them, for the most part.

More father/daughter-ness....I can't escape it!

Its free online on sites like animeflavor Thats where I watch it XD or watchcartoononline.net

I figured the different zodiac sign from her name would be neat! I wanted to name her after a constellation, since Dipper has a birthmark on his forhead that's the big dipper (She doesn't have a birthmark or anything, but I thought it sounded cute!), so that's where I got that inspiration from

And no worries, she does get along with her Aunt, just at first she associates coming to Gravity Falls and everyone in it with losing her dad, so she has a hard time coming around, but eventually she becomes really close to Mabel, since she is her father's twin and there are a lot of similarities and a comfort there.

For sure though! Dipper is always making sure Aries knows shes wanted and love and just because she was unplanned doesn't mean she is any less of a person to him or to anyone. She may have not been planned personally by Dipper to come into the world, but he believes that everything happens for a reason and that in a way, Aries was a gift and a ray of hope for him. So when she is told that he's just vanished....it really doesn't make any sense to her or Mabel.

Aww, don't worry, almost all of my fandom stuff (even the non-Star-Trek ones... I've got the same setup in The Hobbit and Pokémon with my OC having an adoptive father figure there too) is the same way. It's honestly something very emotional and therapeutic for me, since I don't have a father figure in real life (my dad probably contacts me a grand total of twice a year on average, and I've never really had a good relationship with him even when the visits were more frequent during my childhood; and his dad died when I was two, and my mom's dad died when I was twelve--which was right before I started really focusing on this theme, as a matter of fact ). But anyway, enough of my emotional baggage there.

Oh, is that mentioned later on in the show? I was wondering where Dipper got his (nick?)name! (I also was wondering if he had the same voice actor as Hiccup in HTTYD--it sure sounded like the same voice to me, anyway! )

Awww... I agree with Dipper, that everything happens for a reason. Not just in the case of Aries in your story, of course, but in a lot of other areas of life too.

I hope Aries and Mabel find Dipper eventually (and that he's okay)!

I didn't grow up knowing my biological father either and the father figure in my life never reallly stepped up to the plate as a dad, he was more of an uncle (Also due to certain events in my life, I was very traumatized by men, so it took me a long while to get over that fear). I've always been envious of my friends who had dads and for some reason I always wanted to be raised in a single family home with just a Dad after awhile when my mom and I started drifting apart. \
My biological father got in with the wrong crowd and is apparently no longer with us. Look at it this way, I didn't even call him dad, but "Bluecar" because thats the color car he drove. So we had no relationship. So I know how you feel.

I think in Double Dipper they mention the birthmark And his first name is still a mystery although people have their theories XD And he's played by Jason Ritter, but he sounds fairly close to Hiccup's voice actor but its not the same person :3

Thats my motto for life...I don't think I could get through it if I didn't live by it....\

And they will...eventually XD And Dipper is okay physically but emotionally he's distraught

Oh gee, I'm sorry to hear that... I don't really know what to say, except I do understand at least half of the situation, with the absent father, and again, I agree with the motto you and Dipper both have. Good experiences give us happiness and encouragement, but hardships also make us strong and mold us into who we are. (I don't doubt both my lack of a father figure and my fibromyalgia condition, both of which I've had since a child, have contributed to my reliance on imagination and therefore some of my creativity through it, for one.) Again, I know this is an awkward time to be discussing this, especially now, but, from what I've seen of you in the notes we've shared, you're a kind and steadfast individual, and I'm sure, whatever life tosses at you, you'll come through and be an even better person for it. Don't ever give up.

I've had a rather unconventional upbringing, with my mother and grandmother, but I have had a stable and supportive home with them, and I love them both very much. But for some reason, I've still always liked imagining my characters' father figures as single, rather than married to their mothers--I guess because I'm used to a single-parent relationship myself, with my mother, and see the fatherly characters I choose in a similar light. I'm not sure.

Aww, I'm sure Dipper definitely would be traumatized! But hopefully Mabel and Aries help him get back on his feet soon after.

Thank you >w<

I actually haven't developed her mother all that much since she has no real purpose in the story other than to make Dippers life a living hell at the start. I know she is latino however, hence the darker skin on Aries. Its kinda a fill in the blank deal.
Shes basically a very popular girl, clearly not ready to bear children who is too full of herself to think of others.
I wanted to add a real life element to Dipper's life, and could honestly see him making this mistake but of course Dipper has morals and at least takes responsibility of the situation.
Its probably the most realistic element in the story while the rest will play up to the spirit of the original series (at least thats the idea!)
