The Spirit of Qarisa

Qarisa is Q's mother who followed in the teachings of Quinn along with other before and after her. She swore she wouldn't let Q be raised in the Q Continuum and would set out with him to escape into the new universe, however her plan back fired when her husband, Q's father found out about their plan and because Q had decided to ignore his omnipotence to foresee what would happen, he "kills" her as punishment for Qs ignorance. Before Qarisa died, she was last seen has an arabian mare (A cover she used hoping to escape the continuum easier with her son)

The death and consistent reminder from his father that it was his lack of omnipotence that "murdered" her, is what begins Qs decline from a innocent free spirited youth to the Q you see in TNG/DS9 and VOY.

Qarisa appears before Q after the Q Continuum cursed him with "Foresight" after his meddling with time caused the kidnapping of Calius Kirk and helps him see the "light" again.
