Quite a lot of the Symbiolic art has been stylistically 'oversharpened', where edges are pronounced across the body, leaving the backgrounds vague; this is a technique that helps the card art read better at a smaller size, ie: during play. That said, as one might notice among the earlier art in the archetype, this can leave some thin, already-sharp parts looking awkward at full size, which is why I was remiss to release some of these full-arts haha. It's a part of learning, I suppose, and playing with touch-ups can only go so far, once you've gone far enough. Ideally, I wanted to give each of the 'sets' of Levelled Symbiolic their own feel, with the handtrap level 3s being skirmishing, almost berserking warriors, the extending level 2s a shamanic, or ritualistic look, and the level 4 starters an iconic, alluring centrality to their art.
