Yeah, I actually meant to finish this a while back, but in general, MLP fanart takes me about an average of 3-5 hours to make in MS Paint, just to get all the details right. And since there are five this time around, well, you get the idea. But, as I learned from an episode of Thomas the Tank Engine, it's better late than never.

The setup is akin to that of Halloween Horror Nights XX in 2010 wherein five notable Icons (Jack the Clown, The Caretaker, The Director, The Storyteller, and The Usher) were named to be embodiments of, if you will, elements of Fear-Chaos, Death, Sacrifice, Legend, and Vengeance respectively. Fear himself was embodied during the event as a blinded wraith that cast his influences all over the Park.

As I became an MLP fan (not a brony, never call me a brony), I started thinking of something akin to the HHN elements of fear as a sort of inverse perversion of the Elements of Harmony. You'd have the five established ones, followed by a greater one FEAR. Thus, the idea was born.

Legend - Nightmare Moon
She pretty much set up this assignment with her line, "Do you not recall the legend? Did you not see the signs?" Not to mention how she is the stuff of legends, forever etched into history as their equivalent of Halloween, a night to be feared by all. The legend makes it return, becoming real and threatening to capture all of existence into an eternal night.

Chaos - Discord
Duh. Who else but the embodiment of Chaos himself could best represent this element? He was the easiest to assign an element, especially since he already came packaged with one. And really, as I listened to the "MLP POV" fanfics on YouTube audio, I really started to get a sense of how messed up this chaotic entity is and how disastrous was his impact. Just add in the blood and it's horror time.

Sacrifice - Queen Chrysalis, Although I Usually Just Refer to Her as "The Succubus"
Tell me something. She wants to essentially sacrifice everyone to be fodder for her subjects. And, going further, she wants to sacrifice everyone to fulfill her own sadistic whims. Doesn't she sound fitting for this position? Plus, she's total Nightmare Fuel to me, the first animated villain to be so since Count Burns in "Treehouse of Horror IV". Of course, I hate her as well.

Death - Zero Wing
Alright, I'm cheating with this one. He's the alicorn villain of my MLP fanfic What Memories May Come , but really, he fits the gap of "Death". Essentially, the story is about the what-if scenario where one of Celestia and Luna's kind, their former enforcer and mediator Gareth, lived as long as they did, underwent the Immortal's Dilemma (outliving your loved ones and friends), and finally snapped, succumbing to a monstrous thought that insisted that everyone would be better dead. With the ability to erase things from existence. After all, no one can suffer if they no longer exist, right?

Since he's an OC, he stands out. And since I suck at working without a reference pic, I used bits of a typical royal guard to reflect the character's former position as Celestia's top enforcer.

Vengeance - King Sombra
Judging by the descriptions available, this bastard sounds like the vengeful type. A former sadistic king deposed of his position, with a heart of pure black, who is presumably going to return and reclaim what was once "his". What better a vengeful spirit than the tyrant making a return?
