Description
It's just me taking the character classes from D&D and putting some appropriate characters into them. I'll list them, explain the choice and list other possible candidates. So now that we've got that out of the way...Barbarian - Hulk: They are both big, bad, rage-fuel tanks. I don't thing there's any other way to explain it. Can't think of another Candidate, but they are also probably a Hulk.
Bard - Dazzler: No explanation needed. She IS a Bard. (no other candidates.)
Cleric - Shaman: This was a hard one, but since he's a Native American holyman AND a Doctor, he does fill the requirments for a cleric. I would guess I could also put Brother Voodoo in this role.
Druid - Storm. Even though there IS a Marvel character named "Druid" I felt Storm has that whole "nature goddesses" thing going for her... Plus I like Ororo. If you've got someone better, I'm all ears.
Fighter - Thor (though, honestly, we could've put NUMEROUS characters in this role)
Monk - Iron Fist: Like Dazzler is a Bard, Iron Fist IS a Monk. Perfect fit.
Paladin - Captain America: He may not have all of a paladin's abilities, but he does have the mindset to play this part. I don't know who else I'd cast, but I'm willing to hear suggestions.
Psionicist - Psylocke: This is one that needs some justification. Professor X is more powerful, but he's more of an NPC type. Jean Grey's a Force of Nature - again, an NPC type. And Emma Frost... well, she's not well suited to this party. So I gave the part to Betsy.
Ranger - Wolverine: Another that needs explaining, but I think you'll see why I chose him over Hawkeye. Fight and foremost RANGERS AREN'T ARCHERS! Yes, many use the bow, but it hardly defines the class. Two of the more famous rangers of fiction, Aragorn and Drizzt, are more noted for their swords than their bows. Hawkeye is actually a Fighter - a man who is an expert with his chosen weapon. What defines a Ranger is his ability to track, survive in the wilderness, adeptness at fighting specific types of foes and fighting with a weapon in each hand. Now, doesn't that sound like Wolverine? I suppose I could've put Ka-zar or X-23 in this position as well.
Rogue - Gambit: Yep. Even though there is a character NAMED Rogue, she is less suited to the role than her boyfriend Gambit, who is perfect for the part, though I'd say Black Widow or even Jubilee would make good Rogues (though Rogue would make a terrible Rogue.) Hope I cleared that up.
Sorcerer - Scarlet Witch: It was tough choosing between the last two, but I cast Wanda as my Sorcerer. Her magic seems more primal and chaotic than the next entry's and so I gave her the nod. I would've also considered Magick, but decided against it.
Wizard - Doctor Strange: Since the Scarlet Witch was the Sorceror, that left the role of Wizard to Doctor Strange. This is another one that is open to any TRAINED magic user, but hey, why not pick the best?
Do you agree with my picks. And if not, who would you choose for Marvel's D&D Mega-party?

I came across a meme featuring a comic page from a Marvel Comic. Gamora has decided to take over the family business(BBEG). The Avengers are the party. Spider-Man is the Paladin. Moon Knight is the Bard. The dialogue is hilarious.

Well since we are using Marvel characters I guess I need to step into the way back machine here. BTW: I refuse to acknowledge Wizards of the Coast and what they call D&D so I am perma-stuck in 1st & 2nd edition AD&D.
Barbarian: how about the original barbarian Conan he was a Marvel title way back when (heck the Unearthed Arcana Barbarian class was based on the Conan type of Barbarian I believe).
Fighter: I feel Wolvie would be more in place as a Fighter than a Ranger given he knows how to use multiple variations of melee weapons (granted most are oriental in nature but still fighters are your walking arsenals).
Ranger: While Wolverine can fill the role of a ranger he is not exactly a perfect fit, given my comic experience I can't think of any Marvel character that is a perfect fit. Maybe Danielle Moonstar, Namor could make an aquatic ranger given his whole protect the seas attitude.
Paladin: Beta-Ray Thor has the nobility and attitude corresponding to a Paladin (at least what I have seen of him in the comics)
Druid: Rahne Sinclair/Wolvesbane at least she is a shapeshifter
Sorcerer/Wizard = Magic User (there is no difference between them to me as both are titles a Magic User can acquire): yes Doctor Strange is the perfect fit.

The closest I can come to a disagreement is that I think Dr Strange is pretty much NPC as well, so maybe Zatanna should be the Wizard?

Agree with all of them!! Jubilee might also make a good Archer, Thief, [[ Since Gambit is busy as the Rouge ]] or even Elf.. Shameless Ref to 1990's Jubilee.. And if a vampire is a good choice.. Well she got it made as that is what she currently is!!! But a Rouge is good too.

Point of order - in (A)D&D vampire is a monster, not a character class. Plus Jubjub is alignment good (at least in Hellcat).

I thought as much. I've had little to do with D&D other than the art work and maybe that old cartoon which don't count for much and as for Jubilee being alignment good.. She's that way in every X-Man comic but she did go though her dark phase. At least in the ones that really counted.. She is a vampire after all and writers/artists are going have a bit of the dark sided ""fun"" at her expense once in awhile.. But I really blame the Twilight movies that were having their golden age and being popular for her being a vampire The timing is about right that's for sure... Ah well at least she's a more proper vampire than those frauds. But someone in Marvel did their homework and learn some vampires can be in the sun..LOL.. Just one thing bothers me. Why has she not met more =In= famous Marvel vampires? I can understand not meeting the AU ones but seriously... She's really being wasted as a mother of someone else's brat even if there are cute moments. And whatever happen with the unfriendly fight with Blade??

You know way more about her back story than I do. Supporting character in Hellcat is the only post-vampirism thing I've seen her in (and even there she tends to at least prefer to be not in the sun).
As for AD&D alignments, I'll suggest that an individual can "have a dark period" without actually "being evil" but alignment is as much a defining characteristic of monsters generally as individual personality is.

I can accept that and it does make sense for anyone to undergo a dark period be they monster or not but monster be more prone to them!! As for the sun.. Yeah pretty much the same everywhere but there are a few times she was out in the sun but most of them are such sweet Jubilee and Logan bonding moments that any fan of the father/daughter-like bond they share that one can easily overlook the sun is out deal.. Jubilee looked so oddly right with the sugar skulls stockings in that one pic.. At least I think they are as they have disappeared.. XD... In any case thanks for the info and the talk... It was interesting to learn more about D&D..

I get you (I don't tend to read anything X-Men or indeed (US) Avengers unless the group turn up in a character title I do read).

Great choices! I agree with all of them.
And you're right, Rogue would be a terrible Rogue She's much too loud and brash.
