Augh. So there is something about this picture I want to kill, but I'm not really sure what it is. (For a while I thought it was Link's face, but I spent time tonight fixing it and now I'm just not really sure. It's totally something to do with Link, though. Sheik fills me with <333)Anyway, this was done back in August of last year. My computer was kind of half-working at that point (by which I mean dead half of the time, working half of the time, and the USB ports kept shorting out, which was screwing with my tablet), but my internet wasn't working at all, so what I remember most about this picture was a lot of back-and-forth, putting it on a memory stick and dragging it to Britt's laptop, working on it there where the USB was still alive, moving it back when my computer was behaving or Britt wanted to use hers (the audacity! XD), etc., and then finally moving it to the laptop to post it to LJ. My frustration was epic. =3
The original version (linked for your lols) was quite sillier in the Link's Face department, as you can see by his eyes being way the fuck too far away from each other, which I fixed in this incarnation , which still had a little bit of lol going on. It's probably never going to get fixed up beyond what I did to it tonight to render it "postable," because that would probably require redrawing it from scratch, but I hope some of the original cute of the idea that spawned it shows through. <3 I've been staring at it angrily for too long now to tell. XD
And as someone on LJ said to me... Who knew Link was coordinated enough to braid hair? XD

Ahaha, I wish I could figure out exactly what was wrong with it XD I spent hours moving it around and trying to figure out where the imbalance was, to no avail. But yay for Sheik redeeming it~ =3 I totally agree with your assessment of the characters! I think that no matter how much he may have wanted to be with Link, Sheik would never initiate it (especially if you go by twisted game!canon and take into account the fact that he's basically condemned to cease existing once Link finishes up his work in the temples-- how fair would that be to either of them?)... and Link just has no clue. XD You're right, the entire population of Hyrule wants a piece of him and it just goes riiiight over his head~ (...although he'd have to be a pretty special kind of special if he didn't at least realize Ruto was after him; Sage she may be, but subtlety was not her forte XD)

Ee, I'm glad to hear it! I worked pretty hard on the eyes (Sheik's came out almost instantly awesome, but Link's had to be redone nine or ten times before it stopped looking like he was crossing them D: *prods at him resentfully*), so it's nice that someone noticed 'em~
And augh, computer problems are the worst, aren't they? I think I'm like some kind of giant virus magnet or something (seriously, there've been times when I was running more than one virus scanner daily, plus had a firewall and active protection going, and still ran a scan that came back with over 8,000 infected files. I don't know how the hell I manage it o.o), but I'm resigned to my lot. Except for a couple of comps that got their motherboards fried somehow and are now completely dead, reinstalling Windows usually fixes it for a while, and I'm good spending a day or so doing that every couple of months as long as it means I can keep using Firefox and my tablet. XD

Thank you, but I can't take too terribly much credit; most of the coloring in this was a total accident. XD I went to add the brown background at what I thought was the very end, and OpenCanvas didn't understand that bottom layer = DO NOT WANT IT BLEEDING THROUGH ALL OF THE OTHER LAYERS KTHX, so I started grumpily erasing it in the places where it was showing through on Link and Sheik, and realized I could use it as additional shading and work it to my advantage. *cough* XD The original set of colors were... not nearly so nice. (Hee, I think Link agrees with us on that 'un =3 <33)
