Yup. He sent them to me, because I was curious as to what he looked like without corpse paint. We'd been writing for some time, and I found it odd that I could only picture him in it.

He really was reluctant about the one where his hair is wavy. I gave him a hard time about how pretty he was.

You know - not really? He was probably the most morbid person I ever knew (and I have known a lot of morbid people). But you can be morbid without being suicidal at all, and for the three years we wrote and spoke, he never once said "I want to kill myself". He was obsessed with death, but that's not the same thing at all.

To be honest, I was surprised when he heard he died that way. Not so much surprised about how spectacular his method was, if that makes sense.
