HiI wasn't sure should I upload this or not.
This is my very first matte painting since 2008 ;]
I'm not quite satisfied with this, it's messy and sloppy in so many places and it was made in one day of rush for competitions on some polish graphic forum.
Suddenly I've said 'll make tutorial for something like this
now I'm not sure , any suggestions ? Plate: [link]

I think it's funny that everything thats destroyed, is kinda Present from the architecture, but the one watching this looks really futuristic, like he moved away from earth with a spaceship and came back to see the End of the world....or well the day after it

I think you may be being a little hard on yourself. For one day of work, that is a very impressive result. While it may not be up to your usual standards, you know what you did wrong and where you made mistakes, so you haven't completely lost your skill from 2008. You may just need to tweak it a little to get back to where you were. I like the result, nonetheless and hope that you do keep making these sorts of works in the future. I'd love to see a tutorial n this, honestly, as backgrounds and landscapes are something I'm terrible at.

I wanna say a few things.
Firstly, I really like it, you got perspective, depth of field, nice lights, the sky is nicely put together and the overall atmosphere suits the title. Overall great job.
Secondly, as you said, it's messy. I think it's because you have too many points of interest, namely the vehicle on the left, the character in the middle and the rift on the right. Due to the saturated blue and red on the edges, the eyes tend to run to one of the corners or switches from one to another. Thus confusing the point of interest. Maybe you wanted a painting with more than one point, but then the main one should stand out the most while the rest are a bit more faded.
All in all, it's still a great work. I honestly hope that my comment will help out

Its really brilliant. Dont sweat the small stuff seriously, you can always rework another time if you are unhappy with it, but this will always be a valid work on its own. It shows the gravity of the thought, fine detail, magnificent use of colour and it provokes the imagination.
