For 's Humanized Media Controls Contest

This is the digital version of the first entry I did for UnknownSpy's Contest. I'm really happy with how it turned out, but I was debating whether or not to add shading. I didn't end up doing it, mainly because I was too lazy XD Shoot! I screwed up the transparency on the magic! The eye on her forehead ended up getting transparent too! Oh well. I also did a neat thing where I used a soft edge for Amandla and a hard edge for Belah to not only create that visual difference between the two, but also to add that more glitchy effect to Belah!

Story:

Amandla and Belah Powers were twin sisters born to two computer engineers and technicians. They were fairly famous, so naturally, the children got quite a bit of attention as well, and were almost pressured into following in their parent's footsteps. Amandla didn't mind, in fact she always did have a fascination for tech and machines, and she was very intelligent, always getting good grades in all her classes, and basically turning into the perfect child. Belah on the other hand wasn't all too pleased with how her life was going. She never saw herself as someone who would go into the computer industry, but because of her parents and the media, she basically had no choice. She got fairly good at it, which took away a lot of the annoyance she had about the line of work, but the same couldn't be said about her other classes. She would put so much focus on what her parents wanted that she neglected her other classes, causing her to get bad grades. After realizing this, Belah panicked, and after receiving her report card, scanned it and edited a new one that made it seem that she had perfect grades just like her sister, so her parents never felt the need to go meet and talk to her teachers and never found out the truth. It wasn't until university that report cards were now obsolete, and parents instead could see their children's marks online if they so chose. Belah took a risk and decided to try and hack into the school database to try and change her marks, but she was caught. She was suspended and had to be taught everything that she needed to know at home, giving her virtually no freedom and almost no time to herself.

When the girls were about 17 years old, their parents died after a mysterious explosion occurred in their lab, allowing them to inherit their fortune and create their own industry. Well, industries, plural. Belah was always so jealous of her sister, despite all that she had done for her and how kind she had always tried to be, so much so that when given her share of the money, she left Amandla and made her own company without her.

Years past and it wasn't until they were 20 when an unknown virus spread through the twin's systems at their Corporations. Before they could solve the problem and try to fix it, they were both pricked by a needle that came up through the wires of their computers, injecting them with some sort of serum and electrocuting them. They both awoke to find themselves within the database of their own systems and looked very different. In short, they had turned into their Media Control counterparts. They were informed that they were both in very big danger, that a bigger force, the same one that killed their parents, was coming after them, and that they were to be granted two powers; one that allowed them to hop to and from the database that they were currently in, and one that they may use when out of the database, which was while they were humans. The only catch was that if they were to abuse these powers outside of the database, they would become corrupt and be one with the evil force. They were taken out of the database and brought back to the real world, little did they know that there were others who were infected along with them throughout the city, but they were all told to keep their powers a secret from everyone, to ensure their own safety. Of course Belah soon found out the capabilities of her powers and used them constantly, slowly corrupting herself and making her into a basic super villain who's after her sister's company. Amandla, wanting to stop her sister, finds it hard since she herself doesn't want to become corrupt, so she constantly deals with the internal struggle of having to fight off the dark forces AND use enough power to stop Belah.

Anywho, lemme know what you guys think, I appreciate all feedback, critiques and comments. Speaking of comments...
