Here's the second scenario in my Sammy's Disney Adventures series!

This time we're going from classic to classic with Walt's second animated movie, Pinocchio! For this, I just decided to do something simple and just add the four of us walking with Pinocchio and his conscience, Jiminy Cricket, under a star lit night sky. And also hope that no traveling puppet guy, some evil freaky coachman, or street clothes wearing foxes and cats come to con us and take the poor little guy down a bad road. We would basically be helpers to these two if we were here! Still though it was a fun and simple scene, pretty much drawn from this awesome ad(vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/di… )!

As for my thoughts on Disney's second animated classic, I thought it was great! While it didn't make it to the levels of my top 20 all time favorites among the Disney Classics, I will say that it came very close! It's just that 20, 22 or so Disney animated movies beat this one to the punch. The story is a mix of dark, fun, and all around good moments. Disney definitely wasn't afraid to unleash their dark side with this one, from Lampwick's "Jackass" transformation, to Monstro the whale, to that face........that freaking FACE......that the coachman pulls off! But, for every dark scene they pull off, Pinocchio would always have it's fair share of good moments too! There's the blue fairy's moment's, the songs, the characters and the chemistry they share with one another, and of course the opening and the closing. The animation as I said before is way ahead of it's time!! From the character animation, to the light and dark effects, the effects they use underwater, all of the gorgeous and awesome scenery! Disney and his team knew what they were doing with this one! The characters are great, from Pinocchio being a cute and fun little kid, Jiminy Cricket as a fun and responsible conscience, Gepetto as a caring father with a good wish, Figaro and Cleo are cute and lovable, and Honest John and Gideon as great examples of "love to hate" characters. Out of all of the songs this movie delivered, the best one out of all of them has to be When You Wish Upon a Star! Not only is this Pinocchio's main song, but it's essentially Disney's anthem, and I'm proud that it is! Though this didn't make it to top 20's standards, Pinocchio still stands in my opinion as a timeless Disney Classic!
