This is the first time I've seen one of that size. Most of the time I saw the little ones only - when I first saw him I thought he was a green iguana, another invasive species.

United States, southern Florida. We get so many invasive exotics here.

Ohhh, I grew up in southwest Florida. I never saw a basilisk there! Interesting.

They seem to be a new thing. They also look a lot like iguanas from a distance, but when they take off they launch their chests forward and take off on their back legs. If you've never seen one before, I recommend YouTubing a video of them running, it's the strangest thing.

Ajax (my basilisk) was as well, and also bitey lol My ex and I have both lost huge amounts of flesh to that lizard. lol

We've got all sorts of cool stuff. Alligators, cuban anoles, green anoles, great blue herons, grackles, mockingbirds, green iguanas, Moscovy ducks...

the only place i've seen wild lizards was down in florida. I used to have a pet chameleon, very cool. lizards are awesome.
