Once the Germans got close, hell broke loose and both sides would quarrel in the mud using whatever was available... Either that be stones, their trench tools, bayonets, knives and their own rifles as clubs all for the sake of killing them, all while Artillery shells continue to bombard around them... And if you noticed why there's two Canadian soldiers and a German soldier doing nothing, well, they're experiencing Shell Shock...

This shot here is also based on the final scene in the War Drama named Passchendaele... A Canadian War Drama based on the war stories of the Director's Grandfather when the Canadians fought in this war...
