When I saw the trailer, I thought pretty much like everyone "what the heck is this!?"But I have some friends who worked on this, so I thought to give it a try, and it was actually very adorable!
Granted, the first 15-20mins was a mess in terms of pacing and the environments were a little lacking, but it picks up during the second act and the main couple were super cute.
I'm quite sad that it was so badly bashed by the critics, when it was actually quite decent.
Sure, it's far from the polished technical perfection of Frozen, but it's not as bad as the critics make it out to be.

This wasn't even on my radar until this pic and then I saw a trailer and finally I went to see it tonight.Β I liked it a lot!Β The couple is super adorable.Β I agree about the pacing.Β Can't wait to get it on Blue-ray so I can watch it a few more dozen times.

as for moviem - saw trailer and first thought was.. epic! design wise they seem to be similiar, but from what i've read in comments, strange magic got stronger plot. and bad villain not being all bad, thats cool!

I just saw it and I agree. The first 20 minutes were tough to get through, but when the main characters actually have measurable time together, it was pretty sweet.

Do you know how to draw people lying on the floor? I'm trying to draw a murder victim for some fan art but I don't know how the perspective works out. As you can probably imagine, there's not a lot of reference for it.

You could get a couple of friends or family members, get them to lie down in the pose you want, and take some photos. That way, you'll have a good reference.

I guess it depends on the quality and the test of the majority of the audience. By the sound of the plot, it does sound like bad movie. But then again, you can't always trust the words of the critics. You have to see a movie and then decide whether their opinions are agreeable or not.Β
Still I like the picture, it looks beautifully colored.

Is there anyway to watch this? Because I don't live in America and it doesn't seem to be airing in the theaters in Sweden. I really wanna watch it QAQ

I liked Strange Magic, I had no idea what it was at first, as I do not watch television/have not seen it anywhere online.
I actually thought it was going to go in a far different direction than it did... ._.
Quite an amusing movie.

Originally 8, an extra point to Strange Magic for pulling it's story together while maintaining a pretty picture.
Frozen had quite a few holes in it's story, and it feels like they forced the Anna/Kristoff love situations in there at the last minute.

I really like your drawing, the faerie's colors make her pop out of the drawing. I like the "no line" thing...this looks like a concept for the movie...X)
And the couple, really nice!! I am personally tired of price charmings and such... (this makes me think of good boggins, from Epic...)

I actually really liked this movie.Β The only issue I believe I had with it was that they didn't seem to want to make a longer movie.Β The songs while well used seems too replace any kind of real character development as almost everything was in song...pop culture songs, thus impossible to change too much with out comepletely rewriting it to suit.
Your work really captured the vibe of these two and the backround is actually very soothing with the wider brush strokes and earthy colour palete.
