When I saw the trailer, I thought pretty much like everyone "what the heck is this!?"But I have some friends who worked on this, so I thought to give it a try, and it was actually very adorable!
Granted, the first 15-20mins was a mess in terms of pacing and the environments were a little lacking, but it picks up during the second act and the main couple were super cute.
I'm quite sad that it was so badly bashed by the critics, when it was actually quite decent.
Sure, it's far from the polished technical perfection of Frozen, but it's not as bad as the critics make it out to be.

I've watched the movie recently, and honestly, I have NO idea why critics disliked it so much. :/ It's actually a very nice musical fantasy movie, and almost everything in it was very pleasing to me. The movie, btw, wasn't even released in my country (Russia), so we weren't able to watch it in the theater. Shame.(

I thought the movie from start to finish was amazing! it takes inspiration from a midsummer nights dream, one of the most classic Shakespeare plays. I love every song in it, i'm a sucker for the oldies lol. i mean, the opening was a little dorky, but when she picked up that new no nonsense attitude i thought it really picked up. i really liked how he turned into something shy if a softy after he got to know her. comes to show no matter who you are, no matter what you are, no matter where you come from, we all all capable of love. of feeling it, giving it, and receiving it

From what I can gather, this film is based on the Shakespeare play A Midsummer Night's Dream, although I think in this case "based" is a euphemism for "More gangbanged and mutilated than a Game of Thrones character". Β This did not get good reviews from either professional or Youtube critics.Β

The reason why I LOVE it -it's because the character is actually 'ugly' and love should come in all shapes and forms. Β Idk. But I love this movie. I can't wait to see more art of it. Me wonders if they will make a second? Or someone drawing up what their children would look like. Haha. xD

The film is a messy disaster to my ears in particular, which leads along the visuals by the nose in a distracting and frustrating way. The story and characters suffer for the sake of well-known music.
But I adore the concept of these two, and your work captures the underlying idea of them dying to get out past the constraints of the flawed film with beauty and cohesion where the film failed, in my opinionβ¦ If anything, their dynamic was worth the film's existing, but it's just not enough for the average viewer. Me, I'm a huge fan of strange creature designs, so Bog's great in my book, and they're a great, balanced couple for the time they had to develop on screen. I justβ¦the singingβ¦ Good god their characters suffered under the weight of those train-wreck movie-halt song numbers. X(

Dont say that! sure this movie has its flaws...but it is the best. I think it captures the other side of love very well. The songs wernt that bad and the song strange magic actually fit in the movie. I absolutely love this movie AND this piece of art work! good job.Β

When I first saw trailers about this movie, I was completely turned off. After reading a summary of it, I may give it a chance if I come across it. I think that the marketing department did a terrible job at promoting it and didn't show anything that attracted even a glimmer of interest from me.Β

such a shame. Seriously if I'd had any idea of what it was actually about I might've gone to see it. I am an animation major and animated movies are pretty much the only reason I go to theaters anymore. I hate trailers that give people absolutely no idea what the movie is about. You don't have to tell me everything, but give me something other than a few random shots of characters.Β
