I would love to see more Mass Effect art from you, there aren't many pieces out there with a huge scenery and perspective like in this one and I do love them

This is beautiful.
I have to admit, I smiled when I saw Garrus. Poor guy probably had to do that all the time when Shep was driving. XD

... This reminds me I have to replay ME1 because my old hard drive fried on me...
I just made myself feel sad. And apprehensive at playing ME1. It's a great game, yeah, but... the Combat System... They need a patch to improve it.
All of it...

Haha, for some reason I saw this and got the idea that the two by the car (whose names I have yet to learn, but will soon!) are playing rock-paper-scissors to see who has to do something

The guy in the background by the rock is what makes the picture for me. (I am strangely brought to mind of Mulan, haha.)

Really nice work, mate! I really love the mountains and that little collection of puddles/shiny rocks/whatever.
... Is it sad that I actually missed doing this when it wasn't in ME2?

I am laughing way too much at Garrus and his obsession with the Mako. Oh that turian.
It's a beautiful picture. The light is absolutely spectacular. <3

Wrex: "This sucks!"
Garrus: "Fourth time in the hour, easy."
Shepard: "Well, I don't hear *you* coming up with any better ideas for making some quick credits!"
Wrex: "We could always just kill things."
Garrus: "Why did I think you were going to say that?"

hurhur you use the same squad members that I do. >w> Though I do sometimes switch out Wrex for Tali. ... I don't think I've ever left Garrus behind on anything though. Turian love.
Beautiful peace! I wonder what Wrex is pissed about. xDDD

Beautiful!
You probably won't see this comment since this piece is so popular. (For good reason, it's amazing!)
What kind of brush, and brush settings do you use to achieve that paint-like washed effect? I'm trying to deviate away from line art and delve into painting.
Once again, epic scenery!

No. It just means that you haven't commited proper storage space in your brain for the memorization of tiny details of objects you put into pieces of art.

Alright alright, no need to get the claws out!!
I'm sorry, you're obviously an amazing artist. I am truly in awe.
I just don't see the problem in using reference to help when it comes to getting good composition, colour, and lighting. Every artist does this and you'd be lying if you said you didn't.
Obviously some people who have gotten to certain level of skill, like Sandara here, have memorized what they have seen over the years and no longer need to use reference as much.
That's awesome, but I just find it a little pretentious to portray the use of reference as a negative thing, how else are you meant to learn??

No, I wasn't angry at all, I swear! ><; I'm sorry I came across as such. (But, thank you for the compliment. ^^)
I personally don't see any issue with using reference, and I agree that it is necessary for most people who want their art to look good. I don't see using reference as a negative thing, but good for you if you're able to pull something off without using it.

No worries! I got the impression you were, so sorry for the sarcasm you failed to pick up on.
My thoughts exactly. Although it's not all about "wanting your work to look good", it's about learning from what works well.
Thanks for clearing that up though, no hard feelings!

oh i hate using ref too...but my mechanical designs witout them end up looking like the cakes from the supermarket made to look like a car...

Mass effect killed one of my video cards... Actually overclocking it to play mass effect killed my VGA...
Paintings like this inspire me to try my hand(s) at digital painting. Thank you a ton for the inspiration and motivation to keep developing as an artist.
