Urgh! The witch looks exactly like the creepy old lady who lived in the apartment downstairs several years ago. She was totally psycho.

Inspired by this very picture, I told this story to some of my Korean school kids yesterday after we finished up our lesson earlier. It was fun to see them jump a little when the witch catches Hansel and Gretel. It was also fun to hear them pronounce Hansel and Gretel.

Well,I always read her as the mean stepmother who really has no love for her husband's children cos they're not her own. So yea,a woman who can't love a child and wants to lose them so that they'll have food for themselves ain't good in my books.
