i remember reading spider island and early on firestar appears and says spiderman trusts us and we are his amazing friends.
which i thoughht was a nice reference to a great classic show.
and it was cool to see firestar looking just as attractive as when she first appeared.

Firestar/Angelica took off her boots and began to relax after the battle she and her friends had with Green Goblin. She lad her head back and closed her eyes. Unknown to her, the boys (Peter and Bobby, aka Spider-Man & Iceman) were about to goose her and tickle her feet. They crept in quietly and began to caress and fondle her bare soles, which began to stir Angelica
For a moment, she wanted to get up and give the boys a taste of their own medicine, but she was feeling tired, in a state between sleepiness and dreaminess, and to besides, the boys's ministrations weren't so bad. She began to giggle as the fingers of both Bobby and Peter caresses her soles and toes...

ah this show was a classic sure the writing is dosent compare to later spiderman animated shows but who cares its a fun show.
did you know that the human torch was intended for this show but a mess of things happened and firestar was created which in my opinion was for the better.

Even as a kid it seemed obvious Firestar was a stand-in for the Torch. I agree that ultimately it was a movie for the better.
